"Like a drug" as written by and Laura Baricevic....
Since you’re gone, I sat at home
Wonder why no I’ll never be free
But the thought of you
Goin with another guy
No, it could never be me
You took a ring and pawned our love away
What can I say, I am left behind
So I take a drink, another cigarette
I can’t forget that you once were mine

What can I say?
I guess it wasn’t meant to be
Now you’re gone,
It’s just, your love is like a drug

It’s been so long
Your folks have bet you gone
I know that you’re alive inside
So I hope and pray you won’t throw this love away
I just wish that you still were mine

    General CommentFirst post!

I rekon its about a guy whos wife/woman left him. She pawned the ring/item that represents their bond and took off. Now hes left drinking and smoking his cigarettes.

Hes accepting that the relationship is over, but he cant deal with whats going on. Even tho he knows its over, he still thinks that he has a special place in her heart and that some day when all the dust has settled maybe they can get back together, and untill then he will just keep hoping

General CommentI think this song has to be about a guy making a comparison of a girl leaving him and him quitting a drug. They are both gone, both cost him everything, and now that they are gone, he just drinks and smokes cigarettes. They both were bad for him, and he knows it wasnt meant to be, but he still reminisces about them.
