"Loves Divine" as written by Mark Christopher Batson and Henry Olusegun Adeola Samuel....
Then the rainstorm came over me
And I felt my spirit break
I had lost all of my belief, you see
And realized my mistake
But time threw a prayer to me
And all around me became still

I need love, love's divine
Please forgive me, now I see that I've been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name

Through the rainstorm came sanctuary
And I felt my spirit fly
I had found all of my reality
I realize what it takes

'Cause I need love, love's divine
Please forgive me, now I see that I've been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name

Oh I, don't bend (don't bend), don't break (don't break)
Show me how to live and promise me you won't forsake
'Cause love can help me know my name

Well, I try to say there's nothing wrong
But inside I felt me lying all along
But the message here was plain to see
Believe me

'Cause I need love, love's divine
Please forgive me, now I see that I've been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name

Oh I, don't bend (don't bend), don't break (don't break)
Show me how to live and promise me you won't forsake
'Cause love can help me know my name

Love can help me know my name

General CommentLove this song too. But shouldn't it be "Through the rainstorm came sanctuary"? "Century" doesn't make much sense...

General CommentTHis song is very inspirational. . .my 4 mo old baby girl loves it when I sing the chorus to her. . .

Also, I think the lyrics should be changed. . .I believe he says: "I don't bend and I don't break" that would rhyme with "forsake" in the next line. . .

General CommentHe is pretty much singing about the power of love to change and move himself and other men.

General CommentSo deep, and powerful. Seal's voice just pulls at your heart because he seems to feel everything he sings. And that makes this song so emotionally draining to listen to. Its amazing.

General CommentIt is so beautiful how passionate and well prepared he accepts the love that surrounds him. He knows that love is the most needful emotion that most of us are sometimes afraid of accepting in it's fullness and beauty.

General CommentI agree with gatorman and seanXanger about the lyric changes and want to add that the end of the first verse should be "And all around me, became still" and the third line of the second verse should be "I had found all of my reality"

General CommentThe song is actually about losing his faith in Jesus Christ and then him rediscovering it through the grace of GOD.
