Did you ever feel like you wanna be
Someone else for just one day
Did you ever feel like you wanna see
Through another pair of eyes
Did you ever think I might wanna be
With anyone else for just one day
Did you ever really think of me
When I walked away

The book, the dunks, and the bottle of Jack
The smokes, the slouch, chair, my eyes down
You think you know what you think you'll find
You think you'll figure me out tonight
But you'll never know what I wont share
Cuz I dont care, no I dont care
You think you'll figure me out tonight
But I dont care
And I wonder
If I'm just built this way
Cuz every man that I know makes me feel like
I'm to blame when its over
Me and my selfish ways
Go back to start again
Go back to start again

Did you ever feel like you should have said
Something smarter at the time
Did you ever feel like you should have kept
It all to yourself
Did you ever think it might be your fault
I never promised anyone
Did you ever think it might not be me
No, it was always me

The book, the dunks and the bottle of Jack
The smokes, the slouch, chair, my eyes down
You think you know what you think you'll find
You think you'll figure me out tonight
But you'll never know what wont share
Cuz I dont care, no i dont care
You think you'll figure me out tonight
But I dont care
And I wonder
If I'm just built this way
Cuz every man that I know makes me feel like
I'm to blame when its over
Me and my selfish ways
Go back to start again

And I wonder
If I'm just built this way
Cuz every man that I know makes me feel like
I'm to blame when its over
Me and my selfish ways
Go back to start again
Go back to start again

The book, the dunks and the bottle of Jack
The smokes, the slouch, chair, my eyes down
You think you know what you think you'll find
You think you'll figure me out tonight
But you'll never know what I wont share
Cuz I dont care, no I dont care
You think you'll figure me out tonight
But I dont care

And I wonder
If I'm just built this way
Cuz every man that I know makes me feel like
I'm to blame when its over
Me and my selfish ways
Go back to start again

And I wonder
If I'm just built this way
Cuz every man that I know makes me feel like
I'm to blame when its over
Me and my selfish ways
Go back to start again
Go back to start again
Go back to start again

I like this song a lot, but these lyrics are wrong:

'See through another pair of lies' = 'See through another pair of eyes'

'Did you ever think I'm a wannabe with anyone else for just one day' = 'Did you ever think I might wanna be with anyone else for just one day'

'You look, you don't sound apologetic, you smoke your subjects at my eyes like you think' = 'The look the dunks and the bottle of Jack, the smokes the slouch and my eyes back'

'You know where you think you'll find' = 'You think you know what you think you'll find'

    'I'm too plain' = 'I'm to blame'

'When it's over and my selfish ways' = 'When it's over me and my selfish ways'

'Now it was always me' = 'No, it was always me'

wow, these lyrics are seriously inaccurate

what i think this song is about is basically the same theme we get from 'mean girls' - a girl is labeled as a slut or a mean bitch or something, and everyone is convinced that's what she is and they keep telling her that, and eventually she believes it herself because that's how she acts and that's how everyone sees her. people assume they know her right away, but there is always more to her. there is always something under the surface that nobody bothers to discover or accept, because she's just a typical bitch, slut, etc.. it's almost like she's saying, "i would escape from this stereotype i've been trapped into if i could, but my society won't let me. no matter what i try, they continue to label me in a narrow-minded fashion. so, i just submit, and act the way they believe i should."

"Did you ever really think of me when I walked away?" I'm not sure there is a person who doesn't relate to that line...It's almost as though when you walk away you do it just to see if anyone runs after you and when they don't you wish you hadn't run so far so fast.

Good song but i think it's "I'm to blame" not "i'm too plain"

I like this song as well. It's fits perfectly in that movie "Mean Girls" when that guy that Cady liked looks at the picture of Cady when she is riding on the elephant as a little girl. The sweetest moment in that movie...

Anyways, it's pretty obvious what this song's about. The guys always think that they know what she's about because she seems to be like a normal average girl, but she's not.

    Wicked song..even though I'm like..a year late.

..this song is about a girl who wants to prove everyone wrong..and that beauty is not skin deep.

Lyrics correction!! I got these lyrics off the artist's official Myspace. The second verse should be:

The looks, the dunks and the bottle of Jack the smokes, the slouch and my eyes down you think you know what you think you'll find you think you'll figure me out tonight...etc

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
