They're playing in Central Park
Check out him, he's shouting at the gate
Billy didn't tell you everything
Or did he mention the magic day?

Well I figured it out from a fig tree
It's the chosen fruit of the devil himself
Now you've been bad for 50 years
And now it looks like daddy's taking off his belt

Waiting for October
I cross my fingers
Cross my heart
And hope to die

Waiting for October
I'm in the book
And I'll be learning how to fly

He's coming down but he's not alone
He's gonna bring an army of saints
And he's taking all his back home
And then destroying what remains

Waiting for October
I cross my fingers
Cross my heart
And hope to die

Waiting for October
I'm in the book
And I'll be learning
To be winged
To be winged

Hoping that the end
Will start it all again

And that's when human history will die
I said it must be what's so right about the day
Cause it all ends in 1999
And commences on the 28th, the 28th, the 28th

Waiting for October
I cross my fingers
Cross my heart
And hope to die

Waiting for October
I'm in the book
And I'll be learning how to fly

Waiting for October
I cross my fingers
Aross my heart
And hope to die

Waiting for October
I'm in the books
And I'll be learning how to fly

Hopin' that the end
Will start it all again

General CommentDuring the reunion show, one of the Pete and Pete creators (Will McRobb) confirmed that the song is about the end of the world. I think many or most thought this interpretation was correct, but it's nice to get second hand feedback from Mark Mulcahy.

    Here's the video: youtu.be/…

It should open up to the discussion about Waiting for October... but if it doesn't, the discussion is 1 hr 7 min and 36 seconds into the video. I recommend watching the whole thing, Polaris performs at the very beginning and there is some discussion about music and musicians on the show. Plus a lot of Pete and Pete discussion in general. The audio is fucked up though, so that can be annoying when they are showing clips from the show.

General CommentIt's suppose to be about a crazy guy from Billy Graham Cental Park concert thing, where the guy is preaching outside the event saying the end of the World will October 28, 1999.

    He's was right!
