"This Scene Is Dead" as written by and Cain/murray/tapper....
The scene is dead, but I'm still restless
An hour till the last call I guess
I shouldn't even be here much less
Drinking myself into excess
But I'm not going home till I'm done

Well, go on get gone
Go on and get gone
Go on; you can't go home
The night is young
I'm blacking out
But it's been fun

Well, everything's another excuse
To keep you doing what I want to
Look, I would really love to kiss you
But I guess I'm in no condition
I'm not going home with no one

Well, go on, get gone
Go on and get gone
Go on; you can't go home
The night is young
I'm blacking out
But it's been fun

Well, I'm not going home with no one
Not going home with no one
Not going home with no one

Well, go on, get gone
Go on and get gone
Go on; you can't go home
The night is young
I'm blacking out
But it's been fun

We can't go home
The night is young
I'm blacking out
But it's been fun
We can't go home
The night is young
I'm blacking out
But it's been fun
We can't go home
The night is young
I'm blacking out
But it's been fun

General Commentits not about Jesus, it's simply about having a night out, drinking way too much to the point of blacking out and not wanting to go home because the night is still young, even though the scene is dead, but he has nothing better to do.. pretty self explanitory, really.

General CommentI read that this song is a trubute to Johnny Cash and the more you peruse the lyrics you can see that...

General CommentI think it's about when you go out with your friends. You're simply looking for a good time, and as the night comes to and end you realize you're not ready to go home. Everything is dead around you but you still feel like the night has life to it. So you search the room for someone to go home with to make the night not a total loss.
