"The Pursuit Of Vikings" as written by and Fredrick Andersson Johan Hegg....
The warming sun returns again
And melts away the snow
The sea is freed from icy chains
Winter is letting go

Standing on the ocean side
We can hear the waves
Calling us out with tide
To sail into our fate

Oden! Guide our ships
Our axes, spears and swords
Guide us through storms that whip
And in brutal war

Our ships await us by the shore
Time has come to leave
Our country, family and homes
For riches in the east

Some of us won't return
But that won't bring us down
Our fate is written in the web
Woven by the Norns

A ram is sacrificed
Across the longship's bow
And as we set our sails
A strong breeze starts to blow

It carries us out to sea
With hope of fame and pride
And glorious all will be
That with sword in hand will die

Oden! Guide our ships
Our Axes, spears and swords
Guide us through storms that whip
And in brutal war

Oden! Guide our ships
Our axes, spears and swords
Guide us through storms that whip
And in brutal war

General CommentThe song is clearly about the preparation for an expedition in eastern Europe. The set is probably eastern Sweden, spring has arrived, ice in Baltic sea is melting, proper offers to the god were given and our brave heroes are ready to sail to bring back riches or face death in the process.

P.S. Octobersnackbar came to the discussion for a song with lyrics about history to say that we are hearing low level music, how many songs about history or anything except love and pop lifestyle there are today in "normal" music of "normal" people?

General Commentthe riffage in theis song is so cool. It has such a medieval feel to it. I love the whole viking references...

General CommentSoldierlessSoul: no. It's an utterly self-explanatory song about Vikings. All you did was copy/paste a bunch of Norse mythology without once stating how you were connecting it with the lyrics.

General CommentOmg, please don't mix up Viking and medieval history and mythology.

    General Comment^My thoughts exactly...

It really doesn't go very deep...
    The riff kicks ass, though.

General CommentReally good "pumping up" song, and I agree it's a kick ass riff. Lyrically it's fine, but the plot is kind of lame.. I think it comes too late in the album.
