I could not ever see myself packing up and taking off
Just to fall asleep in work again
I will not count my sleep hours, let 'em all just happen
All groggy and incoherent
I just met a crazy girl who stays, so I'm not about to leave just yet
Only an idiot would say "right on, I'll see ya"
Just to go home and think what could have been
We both finished ripping off all the labels on the pantry cans
We both succeeded hurling the t.v. set, still plugged in, down the front stairs

So why not?
Cause we can stay if we want to

She could not ever think of leaving everyone she knows is never all in the same place
The 8 hours she spends hardly working
With this, she would gladly replace
All she wants is what we want
Three times, laughing with no designated end
She told me, "I will not be a slave, I must learn to roll with me"

So why not?
Why not?
Cause we can stay if we want to
Cause we don't care like they do
Like they do...

It can not stop too many of us laughing each other on
We can not stop, we need more trouble before the night is gone

So why not?
Why not?
Why not?
Cause we can stay if we want to
Cause we don't care like they do
So why not?
Why not?
Why not?
Why?
Cause we can stay if we want to
Cause we don't care like they do
Yea, we can stay if we want to
Cause I'm gonna stay as long as you do
As long as you do

General CommentSome of the lyrics posted were close. A lot of them were way off, especially the best parts:

"I could not ever see myself packing up and taking off
Just to fall asleep and work again
I will not count my sleep hours
Let ‘em all just have me all groggy and incoherent
I just met a crazy girl who's sane so I'm not about to leave just yet
Only an idiot would say 'Right on I'll see ya'
Just to go home and think what coulda been
We've both finished ripping off all the labels on the pantry cans
We've all succeeded hurling the T.V.
Still plugged in down the front stairs
    So why not?

Chorus: Cuz we can stay if we want to

She could not ever think of leaving
Everyone she knows is never all in the same place
The eight hours she spends hardly working
With this she would gladly replace
All she wants is what we want free time laughing with no designated end
She told me 'I will not be a slave to time
Time must learn to roll with me'
    So why not

    Chorus:
Cuz we don’t care like they do
It cannot stop too many of us laughing each other on
We cannot stop we need more trouble before the night is gone

    So why not
    Chorus
    So why not
    Chorus
Cuz we don't care like they do
Cuz I'm gonna stay as long as you do

General CommentThe best lines are "I will not be a slave to time, time must learn to roll with me" and "I just met a crazy girl who's sane."

Song's basically about not growing up too soon and not forgetting to have fun, as are so many of their songs. He can't see himself working 8 hour days and going to bed to do it all over again, spending nights just watching TV. Forget about time and money and just laugh and laugh. That's this song. That's pretty much Big D in general.

    Best band ever.

General CommentThis song makes me cry. It was the first song on the mix tape that I made for my friend before she had to move. I loved her, and we can't talk anymore. But this is one of my favorite songs of all time.

General CommentI love this song. I think Mr. Frisbee's dead on on this one. He doesn't want to live in the norm and do what everyone else does.
