"This Love Affair" as written by and Rufus Wainwright....
I don't know what I'm doing
I don't know what I'm saying
I don't know why I'm watching all these white people dancing

I don't know where I'm going
But I do know that I'm walking
Where?
I don't know
Just away from this love affair

I can't say that I'm cruisin'
Not that I don't like cruisin'
Just that I'm bruisin from you

I can't say that I'm waltzin'
Not that I don't like waltzing
Would rather be waltzin' with you

So I guess that I'm going
I guess that I am walking
Where?
I don't know
Just away from this love affair

General CommentThis song is such a poignant and languishing look at the up and down journey away from love lost. This is some of his best music (I love how the left hand of the piano is walking...) and the lyrics, though perhaps not as cryptic as some of his other songs, express so perfectly what anyone with a broken heart might say as he tries to come to terms with it. Bravo.

General Commenti love this song. it's beautiful and sad and there's so much emotion and you feel like sighing just as he breaks for that second before the last stanza. like he's hopeless and you feel it.
