You're the phone without the ring
You're the guitar without the strings
You're the mop without the handle
You're the match without the candle
You're the vase without the flower
You're the minute without the hour

You're you you're you
You're useless without me

You're the cap without the pen
You're the chess game without the men
You're the lemon without the squeeze
You're the thanks without the please
You're the fuzz without the peach
You're the towel without the beach

You're you you're you
You're useless without me

You're the lolly without the pop
You're the bee without the bop
You're the view without the room
You're some wool without the loom
You're the brush without the hair
You're the jack without the spare

You're you you're you
You're useless without me

You're the sow without the reap
You're the tea without the steep
You're the belt without the loop
You're the hoola without the hoop
You're the ship without the sail
You're the cock without the tail
You're the rock without the roll
You're the ass without the hole

You're you you're you
You're you you're you
You're useless without me

We're useless without you

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Amazing

Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
