We were in love before
But now it's so much more
'Cause when I kiss your lips I can't explain
What I feel in my heart for you
I don't know what I'd do
Baby if I lost you
'Cause I've been without you and I know how it feels
And I can't be alone anymore

I know it's more than love
Baby I can feel it
When I'm close to you
I know it's more than love, baby do you
Maybe my words don't explain
Why I'm feeling this way

Maybe my words don't explain
Why I'm feeling this way
I don't know what I'd do
Baby if I lost you
'Cause I've been without you and I know how it feels
And I can't be alone anymore

I know it's more than love
Baby I can feel it
When I'm close to you
I know its more than love, baby
I can feel it
When I'm close to you
I know it's more than love, baby do you

I'm glad I get to comment on these lyrics first. I heard this song the other day on the radio and I had to get it. To me it's just about when you and someone else are really falling in love. The feelings can be really overwhelming. Sometimes you just can't find the words to descride it, becasue it is just that powerful. Love can be so great. ~teenie

Such a beautiful, dreamy song, a love letter set to music. Very retro feel. Wouldn't mind doing karaoke to it, but there's too much voice harmony which means that the voices aren't taken out and you just end up singing along with them. I just got the album, which I do recommend if you like this song, and the radio version is somewhat different from the album version.

I just got back with my girl and this song has been playing on my stereo and hasn't stopped!!! It's played in 6/8time (for the non musicians its a very slow rhythm) and most songs in this time signature is a romantic one. Rarely do you see a song these days that's played in this signature but out of all I've heard, this one is definately in my top 5!!! I love it so much... Now I know how Tom Cruise feels!!!!.. ;-)

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
