"Mindless Child Of Motherhood" as written by and David Russel Gordon Davies....
I've been traveling a long time,
To be just where you are.
In dreams I have seen you,
But you are so very far.

How long must I travel on,
To be just where you are?
How long must I travel on,
To be just where you are?

I was your friend,
I was a fool,
I feel for you, though we're far apart.
I see your face,
Lost without trace,
I see your mind, just an empty space.

Mindless child of motherhood,
You have lost the thing that's good.
Mindless child of motherhood,
You have lost the thing that's good.

I know that it's not fair,
To bare a bastard son,
But why do you hide there,
When we could have shared a love?

How long must I travel on,
To be just where you are?
How long must I travel on,
To be just where you are?

I was your friend,
I was a fool,
I feel for you, though we're far apart.
I see your face,
Lost without trace,
I see your mind, just an empty space.

Mindless child of motherhood,
You have lost the thing that's good.
Mindless child of motherhood,
You have lost the thing that's good.

To me.

General CommentI thinks it's Dave being horrible to some girl he got pregnant, saying that's she's no fun anymore, now that she's had his kid.

I could be totally wrong, but that's what it sounds like to me. This song needs a much better production - it's a good song, but it sounds terrible.

General CommentI always interpreted this song as the son of an unwed mother begging for the love and attention his mother has denied him because he's abastard child.

Song MeaningIt's about Dave's lost childhood lover. Both their parents kept them away from eachother when she got pregnant. Now, they are grown up, but she is hiding herself and their son away from him, he does not know why.

Why he was a fool - might be he's playboy attitude, might be his foolish heart when young, only he knows.
