"The Champion" as written by and L Anderson/ A Phillips....
The champion, he locked up the fight
With a strong uppercut from his right hand
Might has overcome right again, he cried

I'm much too tired to explain
How I let my life get away
Older now everyday, I tried

It's not that I'm scared
But just that I care
What you're going through

Breaking the rules one by one
Trying to convince all my friends
This'll never happen again
And I'll try to make amends

    General Commenti like this song.

i really like the 3rd verse about caring what someone's going through; resonates with me at this time in my life.

General CommentThere seems to be a recurring theme of drug addiction ("morphine in my sleeves" reference in Yellow Datsun, "I just can't speak when I'm high" in Squirrels, etc.) in a lot songs. This could be about the fight against said addiction.

"How I let my life get away"
"Convince all my friends this'll never happen again"

It sounds like apologizing after a relapse.
