"Maintain Conciousness" as written by and Matthew Arnold Thiessen....
Our concentration it contains a deadly flaw
Our conversations change from words to blah, blah blah
We took prescription drugs but look how much good that did
Well I think I had a point, but I just got distracted

Lately it just seems to me
Like we've got the letters A.D.D.
Branded into our mentality
We simply can't focus on anything

Because its
17, 18, 19 routine
And here at 23 it's the same old me
And that one thing of the moment
That we all happen to like will
Only very temporarily
Kinda break the cycle
Of the double edged sword
Of being lazy and being bored
We just want more and more and more
Till it's all we can afford

To keep our eyes open for just one more day
To keep on hoping that we'll stumble on a way
To keep our minds open for just one more day
Cause its completely up to us
To maintain consciousness

Well no one can possibly listen to this
More than 4 reps is just monotonous
We're losing interest, losing interest, losing interest

General CommentI think that they might be critizing how most of the kids in our generation are claiming to have A.D.D. and that they can't concentrate.
"Cause its completely up to us
    To maintain consciousness"
It's about how these kids need to stop giving excuses and own up to their own laziness.

General CommentI agree with you Aly, but they also kinda admit to "having" A.D.D. also, so I'm sort of confuzzled. But anywho, this song rocks my sox and it is fun to dance to.

General CommentFirst off, this is an AWSOME song, just thought I would get that point across before people start thinking i am against it. But I am 16 and officially diognosed by a doctor with A.D.D. It is sometimes hard to concentrate, thats no excuse though. I am still an A-B student in 10th grade highschool by the end of the semester. I sometimes use it as an excuse, but all and all if i can get down to it, it aint that bad. I hold a funny pride in it... its fun to. But still... I believe they did this one because they themselves have A.D.D. but... thats prolly just me wanting something to relate to them. LoL. I could go into my theory on how A.D.D. is not a disease at all but the evolution of the human mind... but thats a different story... (and before you think anything on that last note, evolution WITHIN species has been proven. darwin was wrong when he said that people were a goop, but how do you think we got so many breeds of dogs or cats? evolution)

General CommentI think you're all wrong. (except Aly) It's not actually about people with ADD. It's about our generation...their generation. People that find something to focus on and do everything they can to acheive this and then just quit. And We find things that we think we want to focus our lives on...a hobby, a relationship, a place and then we just quit or give up whichever comes first because we're lazy and bored. Every generation is getting lazier (sp?). And at the end "we're losing interest"...we can't listen to this song for more than 4 reps because we just can't take the time to do that...we'll just find somethign else to focus on. THE END.
