She couldn't take one more day
Home was more her prison now
Independence called out
She had to get it

A fight was all she needed
To give her reason
She slammed the door with no goodbye
And knew that it was time

Now she's driving to fast
She didn't care to glance behind
And through her tears she laughed
It's time to kiss the past goodbye

I'm finally on my own
Don't try to tell me no
There's so much more for me
Just watch what I will be

She walked away
Couldn't say why she was leaving
She walked away
She left all she had believed in

Not a day goes by
For the ones she's left behind
They're always asking "why?"
And thoughts of her consume her mind

God please let her know
The love we tried to show
We'd promise anything
If you'd just bring her home

She walked away
Couldn't say why she was leaving
She walked away
She left all she had believed in

Tell her we love her
Tell her she's wanted
And one more thing God
Tell her please, come home
Please, come home

She walked away
Couldn't say why she was leaving
She walked away
She left all she had believed in
She walked away
Couldn't say why she was leaving
She walked away
She left all she had believed in

The choice is yours alone now
Tell me how this story....ends

This song seems to be about a girl(maybe even you) who is walking away from Christ because of the fights going on in her life....it says tell me how this story ends because it is your choice in the end weather to follow Christ or not.

I love this song, I can totally relate to it! I had to move out of my fathers house bcause it was really bringing me down, although, I moved to my mums, which has brought me closer to God, not away from him, so Its a little different to the song :P This is one of my fav Barlow Girl songs!

Oh my word I can completly relate to this song... sadly I started to walk away from my faith because of the things going on and I let myself fall apart.. So this song kinda hits home.

I don't think that the girl in the song is neccessarily walking away from her faith. I think it's just about walking away in general. "Home is more a prison now." Meaning, she felt trapped and she felt she needed to leave to reach her full potential. ("Just watch what I will be") I think she still is close to God, just in a different way than when she was "trapped" in her house and all that she was comfortable with.

except the part at the end, it could have nothing to do with religion.. that's why i like it. because people who haven't found faith can still listen and feel they relate. i think it could be from a sister's perspective. she felt misunderstood and held back at home, sick of everything, turned her back without explanation and left it all behind. the sister is speaking for the entire family telling her to come home, she's loved, they do understand etc.

I think it's about someone with bad problems at home, and after a fight she couldn't take anymore, so she ran away. Now her family is worried about her and is begging God to bring her back home.

Sorry for the double post, but I really love this song. Either way, I can relate to this song. I guess you could say I walked away from Christanity, though I never was much of a believer, and there are so many times I've wanted to just get out of this house and never come back. So this song hits pretty close to home.

When I saw Barlowgirl in concert, they said they wrote this song about a friend who ran away from home. The second verse is from the perspective of the family whose heart is breaking, because they just want their little girl back. This song is so beautiful and touching, especially since a recently had a friend leave home.

This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
