Mirror, Mirror on the wall; Have I got it?
'Cause Mirror you've always told me who I am
I’m finding It’s not easy to be perfect
So sorry, you won’t define me
Sorry, you don’t own me

Who are you to tell me
that I’m less than what I should be?
Who are you? Who are you?
I don’t need to listen
to the list of things I should do
I won’t try; I won’t try
You don’t define me; You don’t define me

Mirror I am seeing a new reflection
I’m looking into the eyes of He who made me
To Him I have beauty beyond compare
I know He defines me

Who are you to tell me
that I’m less than what I should be?
Who are you? Who are you?
I don’t need to listen
to the list of things I should do
I won’t try; I won’t try
You don’t define me; You don’t define me

to me the "meaning" of this song is that you can't let a mirror tell you what is right or wrong about you...God made each and every one of us in his image...i seem to have trouble remembering that sometimes...but then when you "look into the eyes of He who made me" then you will finally see the truth behind yourself and your true beauty!!! hope this helps anyone...lol... GOD BLESS!!!

This to me means that NO ONE other than god can judge you no matter what pple say or think about you it really dosent matter b/c its not there place to tell you who you are and who you arnt. only god id to judge who is what

I LOVE this song, it makes me cry :(, in a good way I used it for my graduation slideshow I love that it says I'm looking into the eyes of He Who make me-- it just reminds us that God made us the way He wants us

My aunty told me to listen to this song. She's 32. I'm 17. She's my best friend. And I'm an alcoholic... and a "Christian" (or so I thought... not so sure about anything anymore). This song- to me, at least - means that you cannot look into the mirror and see a picture-perfect image of yourself. It takes more than a reflective surface to show the true image of a person.

    My Interpretation

Mirror, Mirror on the wall; Have I got it? 'Cause Mirror you've always told me who I am I’m finding It’s not easy to be perfect So sorry, you won’t define me Sorry, you don’t own me

"It means that you always told me that I looked so perfect but it won't say what kind of person I really am. My looks don't say what kind of person I am."

Who are you to tell me that I’m less than what I should be? Who are you? Who are you? I don’t need to listen to the list of things I should do I won’t try; I won’t try You don’t define me; You don’t define me

"Who are you to tell me that I'm not a great person. I don't have to listen to what you tell me to do. You aren't who I am."

Mirror I am seeing a new reflection I’m looking into the eyes of He who made me To Him I have beauty beyond compare I know He defines me

"I'm seeing a new me and to 'him' meaning the guy you love(because he may change you to a better person) or like some people said god I guess.. thinks I'm more beautiful than I really am and he is who I am"

Who are you to tell me that I’m less than what I should be? Who are you? Who are you? I don’t need to listen to the list of things I should do I won’t try; I won’t try You don’t define me; You don’t define me

    It's a pretty touching song ^^

My friend introduced this song to me and explained that it was about a girl who suffered from bulimia, who was so dissatisfied with the image in her precious mirror that she risked her life to meet its impossible standards.

NOBODY should ever feel this way about themselves, even if they're 400 pounds. There are healthy and effective ways to deal with weight, and throwing up is not one of them

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
