"Watching, Waiting" as written by Nuno Bettencourt and Gary F. Cherone....
Hanging above the ground
All my limbs are bound
You're on the right hand
With your head down
Tears from eyes that cannot see
He took the blame from me
So shall it be written
So shall it be done

Watching, waiting
Staring at the Son
Not even knowing
Who you are

Three hours have gone by
We start to question why
Darkness falls in finding out
Why you must die
We can no longer see the Son
The three untie into one
Please forgive us Father
We know not what we've done

General CommentFrom the looks of the lyrics, it seems as if the song is sung from the POV of one of the two men present on the cross next to Jesus, oblivious that it is Jesus on the cross.(Chorus)

The first verse depicts the man being on the cross himself and seeing Jesus on the crucifix next to him, dying for his sins, while the third verse show, possibly accepting religion and asking for forgiveness.

General CommentAnother amazing song by Extreme. The guitar work by Nuno is stunning, as usual. I love the vocal harmonies. Thick, rich and full of emotion. If you haven't heard this song, do yourself a favor and download it ASAP. A contemplative, yet entirely "unreligious", song about Christ's crucifixion. The musicianship and production quality of Extreme's music is on full display here.
