"Every time It Rains" as written by and Charlotte Martin....
Every time it rains I listen to the sky
I wonder what's so great about sunshine
So everybody lives and everybody dies
And no one's gonna love you like I do

When its getting dark I
Didn't need a match I
Never needed light to see you
You thought I disappeared but
I was always here
I could never get that far from you

Though I misunderstand
And been misunderstood
So love me cause you can
And not because you should

Every time it rains
I know it's good to be alive
Every time it rains
I know I'm trying to survive

So take it as it comes
And take me as I am
I never was a good impostor
Well I know how to dream
But, don't know where I stand
And, I'm willing to admit I try to hard
Stop playing with my heart
I'm waiting by the phone
Afraid to be myself
Afraid to be alone

But every time it rains
I know it's good to be alive
Every time it rains
I know I'm trying to survive
And every time it rains
I'm gonna hide myself inside

I know it's good to be alive
I know it's good to be alive
I know it's good to be alive

But every time it rains
I know it's good to be alive
Every time it rains
I know I'm trying to survive
And every time it rains [Repeat x4]

General Commentand that it's okay.. or a guy might be playing with her heart and she realizes it's not a big deal and there are greater things in life than love?

General CommentI love this song. I think it's about always being there for someone, and they don't seem to notice until it all goes wrong (every time it rains) She just wants an answer as to whether they really want her or not(stop playing with my heart/i'm waiting by the phone)

General CommentCharlotte wrote this song about a good friends' suicide while she was at college. I remember reading that his suicide came as a great surprise to all and had a dramatic affect upon Charlotte's life. In some ways, this song is about love. However, not necessarily in the conventional relationship way. This song stands as more a plea to her friend to call for help, rather than take his life. I've always interpreted the second verse as a response to the suicide itself, and waiting by the phone although fully aware that her friend is gone.

The chorus feels like a declaration of morality and despite lifes seemingly unbearable hardships, each individual can overcome their deamons. It stands as a gorgeous angst-ridden proclamation that she will keep moving.

    General Comment"Every time it rains

    Every time it rains

I take this part super literally - I love the rain, I love running outside and playing in the rain. There was a time last year when I was super stressed about everything, but it was really rainy and whenever it would rain, i would go outside and center and everything, and it just gave me new hope and I felt happy to be alive. I love the rain.

General Commenti love the rain also. its great to just play in the rain and listen to it. when it rains at night, everyone always complains that the rain is too loud, but i don't even mind the thunder!

General CommentI think there's a message here that even though life hurt you and there are going to be hard times for everyone at some point, there is a strange beauty in them because the more miserable they make you feel the more you can appreciate the good times in your life. Don't give up just because things aren't great right now, because you'll feel 10 times better when things start to look up than you would have without the hard times.
