A mind lost within its own self
Existing to feed its hunger
Your body hollowed empty shell
Awaiting feed of the ages

Darkness will cover the mind
Casting a shade on reasoning
Immolation of the human self
Conflagration of the ego

Burn in your own hell
Life grand holding cell

Two become as one
One become a slave

Burn the eye to blind
Keeping truth from mind
Breathe in the life
Breathe in the lie

No longer are you human
Just a leech of the addiction
Loathing 'till insanity
Mental deterioration

To destroy the faith
In humanity

Life shell - shocks your empty shell
Hatred for those privileged unlike you

You think you will win
But you can't face the
System of self destruction

Life skins mind bleeding dry
Hatred for the self and the life

General Commentincredible song that gives you about 5 different changes in momentum, and every one is placed perfectly. This is my favorite song on Ember to Inferno. I love it, love it, love it because it's strong, and speaks to me.

General Commenti think that this song is about people who beat their wives and kids and generally abuse them and how the wives and kids feel. for example the line "two become as one, one become a slave" two become as one means that two people get married and this suggests that the man practically enslaves the woman, then the line "immolation of the human self, conflagration of the ego" is about how the people being abused will feel horrible about themselves and will feel that they deserve it. matt heafy also describes the people being abused as empty shells for the same reason. He also partly talks about the person abusing saying the he will, "burn in his own hell" being that this will come back to haunt him and describes him as a "leech of the addiction" meaning that he is sick and is addicted to it and finally tells them that they will lose in the end
