Given decision to live
Not taken
The flight towards the light
I'll stay in the lava for life
Erupting when gods take us all
Changing the peaks makes us pour
From the mountain and burn
The path of our time
Hail people of Iceland
Journey of a land anew
Ram as our liaison
Vision inspire and move
Awe holy island
Breed the lagoon to run free
Raw beauty is ruthless within the golden ring
Precision of Grungir
Spear of the Norse God Odin
Praise our Pagan Father
Founder of the Althing

Given decision to live
Not taken
The flight towards the light
I'll stay in the lava for life
Erupting when gods take us all
Changing the peaks makes us pour
From the mountain and burn
The path of our time
Ruler of sky's thunder
The honourable warrior
All divination
Beward the Hammer of Thor
Lava goddess
Ice and fire
Settling down
Ocean Geysir
Gullfoss
Heimaey '73

General Commentthis song is called island isn't it? anyway i think its probably about the cannibal queeqeg because it mentions all these pagan and un christian things even if they aren't realted to where queeqeg is from (thor?) in the book ishmael and queeqeg praise this little wooden god (praise our pagan father) i can't finish the book but those are some connections i can make right now. I think its mostly about queeqeg not wanting to become christian and retain his savage ways

General CommentIt's spelt Ísland; it's the Icelandic spelling of Iceland, and it's not pronounced with a silent "s".

General Commentit probably actually is about them discovering iceland, and thinking that its just an island, and just sailing on for big ol' moby

General Commentits also some praise for the icelandic people i think, as theyve lived on the "island of fire and ice" for centuries and are now reluctant to leave as they see it as their home.
hence the references to norse mythology

General CommentCHECK THIS OUT. Hiemeay [hay-mah-ay] in the largest island in Iceland. And in 1973, a mountain called Elfell erupted.
    Hiemaey '73. pretty cool.
