"The Sword Of Damocles" as written by and Richard O'brien....
The sword of Damocles
Is hanging over my head
And I've got the feeling someone's gonna be cutting the thread
Oh woe is me
My life is a misery
Oh can't you see
That I'm at the start of a pretty big downer

I woke up this morning with a start when I fell out of bed
(That ain't no crime)
And left from my dreaming was a feeling of unnamable dread
(That ain't no crime)
My high is low
I'm dressed up with no place to go
And all I know
Is I'm at the start of a pretty big downer

Sha la la la that ain't no crime
Sha la la la that ain't no crime
Sha la la la that ain't no crime
That ain't no crime

The sword of Damocles
Is hanging over my head
And I've got the feeling someone's gonna be cutting the thread
Oh woe is me
My life is a misery
Oh can't you see
That I'm at the start of a pretty big downer

Sha la la la that ain't no crime
Sha la la la that ain't no crime
Sha la la la that ain't no crime
That ain't no crime

General CommentJust as an FYI, the sword of Damocles was a 'real' sword from the story of a coutier who got the opportunity to trade places with his king. While he at frist enjoyed the banquet and being waited upon, he looked up and saw that there was a sword hanging by a sing horsehair over his head [since he was sitting in the king's seat]. Reminded of the responsibility that comes with the power of aking he dicided he'd rather go back to being a cortier.
So, yeah, feeling like you've got some impending doom when there's a big old sharp sword just waiting to decapitate you isn't so out there [say the trannies].

General CommentThis is actually my favorite song in the film, I don't know if I'm alone here or what, I haven't met anyone who has said the same.
