Mother, mother
There's too many of you crying
Brother, brother
Far too many of you dying
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today, yeah

Father, father
We don't need to escalate
War is not the answer
Only love can conquer hate
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today

Picket lines and picket signs
Don't punish me with brutality
Talk to me, so you can see
What's going on
What's going on
What's going on
What's going on

Father, father
Everybody thinks we're wrong
But who are they to judge us
Simply 'cause our hair is long
You know we've got to find a way
To bring understanding here today

Picket lines and picket signs
Don't punish me with brutality
Talk to me, so you can see
What's going on
What's going on
What's going on
What's going on

First off, I already pre-ordered the CD, so don't flame me for being able to listen to this track early. I think this version is well done. However, I get the chills from Marvin Gaye's version every time I hear it whereas with this one, I just like it. It also isn't as musical; I expected more (Maynard, use your voice, man!!). :( On the other hand, I can really understand how APC interpreted this song. They recreated it to be more subtly (inwardly) angry than sad and depressing to be expressed to all; APC's version sounds like it's someone talking to himself whereas Marvin's version was talking to the world. Overall, it isn't bad; it's just not as good as Marvin Gaye's version (IMHO). Everyone should hear Marvin's original at least once, and I am glad APC brought his lyrics out again for the world to hear and notice! =)
BTW, the next song on the album, Passive, is amazing (like most of the album)! I just thought I would mention that. ;)

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
