"Locked Up" as written by and Laura ...
I'm steady tryna find a motive,
Why do what I do?,
Freedom ain't gettin' no closer,
No matter how far I go,
My car is stolen, no registration,
Cops patrollin', and now they done stop me,
And I get locked up,

They won't let me out, they won't let me out, (I'm locked up)
They won't let me out no, they won't let me out, (I'm locked up)
They won't let me out, they won't let me out, (I'm locked up)
They won't let me out no, they won't let me out

Headin' up town to re-up
Back with a couple of keys
Corner blocks on fire,
Under covers dressed as fiends,
Makin' so much money,
Ride up smooth and fast,
Put away the stash,
And as I sold the last bag fucked around and got locked up

They won't let me out, they won't let me out, (I'm locked up)
They won't let me out no, they won't let me out, (I'm locked up)
They won't let me out, they won't let me out, (I'm locked up)
They won't let me out no, they won't let me out

'Cause visitation no longer comes by,
Seems like they forgot about me
Commissary is gettin' empty
My cell mates gettin' food wit out me

Can't wait to get out and move forward with my life,
Got a family that loves me and wants me to do right
But instead I'm here locked up

They won't let me out, they won't let me out, (I'm locked up)
They won't let me out no, they won't let me out, (I'm locked up)
They won't let me out, they won't let me out, (I'm locked up)
They won't let me out no, they won't let me out

Maybe a visit (they won't let me out)
Send me some magazines (they won't let me out)
Send me some money orders (they won't let me out, no)
Maybe a visit baby (they won't let me out)
'cause I'm locked up, they won't let me out.
Where's my lawyer? (they won't let me out)
I'm locked up, they won't let me out, no.
Get me outta here (they won't let me out)
I'm locked up, they won't let me out, they won't let me out.
Baby I'm locked up they won't let me out, no
Where's my niggaz?
On the lock-down.
Damn, I'm locked up, they won't let me out.
I'm locked up, they won't let me out.
Oh they won't let me out.
Can you please accept my phone calls?
'Cause I'm locked up, locked up, locked up.

General CommentAkon is a complete KNOBHEAD!!!
"They won't let me out, they won't let me out, (im locked up) "
Well duh, you are in prison, and for a reason.
And if you do want to make a song about being in prison stating the obvious is a complete waste of time.
"you know what they do to guys like us in prison" is a brilliant song about prison rape.
"Locked up" is a load of shit. If you dont want to be "locked up" dont do illegal stuff. Akon is so dumb, but not as dumb as the people who listen to him

    General Commentto distortedsilence:
Do you have any sense? If you don't like Akon, don't post about his songs. Since I heard the meaning of this song from Akon himself in a radio interview, I guess I should enlighten you. The entire song is a metaphor for being trapped in the ghetto/hood. The drug references were thrown in because that is the main"profession" in the ghetto/hood. And btw, what is a KNOBHEAD?

    To hasish:
Those lyrics could be any drug, not just heroin. Any drug can be sold by the bag. And cocaine often comes in bricks, so that doesn't necessarily mean heroin.

Great song and one of my favorites from Akon.

General Commentjust to let every 1 know alomost every song in the entire world has somethin to do with doin drugs or somethin illegal. yeah you shouldnt do illegal stuff if you dont wanna be in prison but its so much more fun to break laws. the song isnt a complete waste of time either cuz theres alot of people in prison or jail that can relate to this song. Its a good song and bitches who dont understand where hes comin from shouldnt comment on his songs.
