Starin' at you takin' off your makeup
Wondering why you even put it on
I know you think you do but, baby, you don't need it
Wish that you could see what I see it when it's gone
I see a dust trail following an old red Nova
Baby blue eyes, your head on my shoulder

Wait, baby, don't move, right there it is
T-shirt hanging off a dogwood branch
That river was cold, but we gave love a chance
Yeah, yeah, to me
You don't look a day over fast cars and freedom
That sunset river bank first time feeling

Yeah, smile and shake your head as if you don't believe me
I'll just sit right here and let you take me back
I'm on that gravel road, look at me
On my way to pick you up; you're standing on the front porch
Looking just like that, remember that?

I see a dust trail following an old red Nova
Baby blue eyes, your head on my shoulder

Wait, baby, don't move, right there it is
T-shirt hanging off a dogwood branch
That river was cold, but we gave love a chance
Yeah, yeah, to me
You don't look a day over fast cars and freedom
That sunset river bank first time feeling

I see a dust trail following an old red Nova
Baby blue eyes, your head on my shoulder
You don't look a day over fast cars and freedom
That sunset river bank first time feeling

i think on top of that, he's saying to her, not only that she looks naturally beautiful, but that she still looks as young and as beautiful as she looked when their relationship began... "you don't look a day over Fast cars and freedom" (the days of youth), and the references of the "old red Nova" and the river being cold are memories from those days when they were younger.

It's talking about love, and being young, and the enjoyment of love while being young. The fun and freedom that one can share and have whike being younger. It talks about rememberance of past days, and how beautiful this girl is. Their days spent together. The love they shared. The love they both made. It says all about their love, and how stil with time he can still remember their past fun days together!

Just a great summer song talkin about the euphoria and joy of bein in love and how fond those memories can be looking back on them sometimes. This song is "behind words cool" and "wide eyed wonder cool" - I can't get over it. It never ceases to impress me.

I love this song, especially the first few lines: "Starin at you, taking off your makeup, wondering why you even put it on" and "You smile and shake your head, as if you don't believe me" because it reminds me so much of my boyfriend. He tells me I'm gorgeous almost every day, but I just shake my head and don't believe him. And even when I don't put my makeup on, he still thinks I'm beautiful

every women is beautiful. some just might have a little more beauty than others. which i think its pretty fucked up that guys will pick a pretty gurl with a bad personality than have a okay looking gurl with a wonderful personality.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
