"Old Sad Songs" as written by and Benjamin Nichols....
Well I'd stay with you tonight my love
Stay the whole night long
But the boys are singing those old sad songs
And I'm singing along
Well I hear the snare drum's slow, sad march
I hear those fiddles cry
And I must go to them my dear
Or else I'd stay the night

General Commentone of my favorite lucero songs...i used to sing it to my son when putting him to bed...

also...pretty sure it is "and i must sing along", not i'm singing along

General CommentI think this song speaks about the power of music, especially this type of music. This singer is torn, but the music is his true love.
You can really hear the music he describes in your mind.
One of my favorites, in spite of how short it is.
