"I'll be here when you wake" as written by and Gary Lightbody....
Leave my bed warm and
I'll breathe in your smell
We shouldn't tell a single soul
You know its right
I want to shout it out
It's killing to hold
Hold it in my head
When's there's barely room for me

And I see you name in the darkness
Like you should be there
And I miss you more
When im coming down
And I fear the door

Leave my brain in knots
That I'll never quite unfurl
I can't make head nor tail
Of this fizzing on my tongue
Both my hands are tied
So I can't pick up the phone
Even if I wanted to
By god I don't

General CommentI am surprised that no one has yet left a comment on this beautiful song.
Maybe it might be about having an affair with someone who is already in a relationship??
whatever it's about the opening lines pull on my heart strings.

General CommentSomething about "forbidden" love indeed.

However, the song shows the seemingly naive side of it.

    Beautiful piece.

General Commentdoes this also have something to do with drugs? "when i'm coming down" and "the fizzing on my tongue" maybe i'm wrong. not that i'm saying its about drugs rather than love.

General CommentYeah, to me this song is about forbidden love, too- maybe an affair. I always found this song reminded me of the relationship between Kevin and Leslie in St Elmo's Fire- well, sort of anyway. Like, the forbidden element (although in this song the woman is aware of it, wheras Leslie isn't for a lot of the movie). But it kind of reminds me of the scene where they have sex just before Alec finds them.

Just my opinions. They probably don't make a lot of sense to anyone else. I do really love this song- I love the vocals and the woodwind in the background.
