This is not an exit!
This is not an exit I need to feel somethin
American Psycho
My confession means...nothin!

Abandon all hope-ye who enter here
Pre-meditated-calculated
I can smell the fear
Don't try to tell the truth
Just black and blue your eyes
Graphic signs of beauty
I've become what I despise

Leaned into the light
Now I'm crucified
Flesh-Blood-Teeth
Not lies!
Later that night
Is how the story goes
Rent-Rewind
Return my videos
This is not an exit
his is not an exit I need to feel somethin
American Pyscho
My confession means
Nothin...AMERICAN PSYCHO!
Nothin...AMERICAN PSYCHO!

This is no attempt to pre-empt my own death
I won't kill myself & I'm not taking requests
The machine has left me scarred
Scared of it's insanity
I've burned to many bridges
To pretend to be Holy
Honesty is ugly
So we don't have a deal

Flesh-blood-tongue
I'm real!
Leaned into the light
Now I'm crucified
Flesh-Blood-Teeth
Not lies!
Later that night
Is how the story goes
Rent-Rewind
Return my videos
This is not an exit
his is not an exit I need to feel somethin
American Pyscho
My confession means
Nothin...AMERICAN PSYCHO!
Nothin...AMERICAN PSYCHO!

No matter how profane-Sacred or insane
Painfully pre occupied -It's always still the same
The killer is inside of me-Don't try to take my life
I've burried all my hatchets-but I've sharpened my knives
WHAT?
FUCK!

This is not an exit
his is not an exit I need to feel somethin
American Pyscho
My confession means
Nothin...AMERICAN PSYCHO!
Nothin...AMERICAN PSYCHO!

This is not an exit...

My InterpretationI think its based on the book American Psycho.

There are lots of references to this, such as: 'this is not an exit', 'my confession means nothing', 'return my videos', and 'abandon all hope ye who enter here.'
These are all quotes from book, or they tie in with the book.

'This is not an exit' is the sign Patrick Bateman sees above a door at the end of the book, his excuse to get out of things is that he needs to return some video tapes, at the beginning of the book, the words 'abandon all hope ye who enter here' is written in graffiti, and after Patrick Bateman discusses his crimes at the end, he says that ultimately his confession has meant nothing.

General CommentWow. Great song. One of my favorites. Erm...I'm not too sure on what this song means. I think maybe it means that we all have a dark side to ourselves??

General CommentIt's about the American Psycho book/film. They were, in a way, about the dark side in all of us, but the protagonist wasn't exactly a normal person. I've yet to read the book, but the film is definitely worth watching.
