"Too Much Too Soon" as written by and Billie Joe/wright Iii Armstrong....
She's always living like she's running out of time
Too much just ain't enough to keep her satisfied
Her plastic card is filled with nothing comes to mind
It's now her occupation that she's overqualified

The looks are always so deceiving
The truth is always misconstrued

To you
Too much too soon
Too little and now your coming unglued
Too much too soon
Too late and now it sucks to be you
Too much too soon
Too little and now your coming unglued
Too much too soon
Too late and now it sucks to be you too

He's talking shit about how it's better way back when
He lives every waking moment as means to an end
We are, we are but I'm not
I never used to be
So god bless your fucking past and to hell with your glory

The looks are always so deceiving
The truth is always misconstrued

To you
Too much too soon
Too little and now your coming unglued
Too much too soon
Too late and now it sucks to be you
Too much too soon
Too little and now your coming unglued
Too much too soon
Too late and now it sucks to be you too

She packs her bags and says goodbye and bon voyage
Hell we'll see you in hell I hope you rest in pieces
(Fuck you)

Oh, oh oh oh oh
Oh, oh oh oh oh

Oh, oh oh oh oh

Too much too soon
Too little and now your coming unglued
Too much too soon
Too late and now it sucks to be you
Too much too soon
Too little and now your coming unglued
Too much too soon
Too late and now it sucks to be you too

Woah, oh oh oh oh

General CommentWhat an awesome song! Well worth buying the single for (even if like me you already had the album!). A pretty angry song, I think its talking about the older generation and how they can't always "talk shit about how its better way back when". As its not our fault that things are like this way. Kinda like Offspring's song "not the one"

General Commentmitmusic, u r so right. well worth buying the single. but i guess i kinda c the song as being in a relationship that is breaking up. too many bad things happened, too soon. she packs her bags and says good bye. hmm....plastic card? credit card maxed? i don't understand that part really. but mitmsic, u could be right. talkin shit about how it's better way back when..........great song. great band!

General CommentI like the reference to "Are We The Waiting?" in the lyrics for this song.

General Commenti don't think the "we are we are but i'm not" is a reference to Are We the Waiting but Nyways...

i think it's about Whatsername...how she's so needy and how J.O.S. is getting fed up...

Nyways i love this song...it would've been great on the album...just before Letterbomb...oh, well...

General CommentThis song sounds more like an epilogue to the album. "Whatsername" (the song) shows how Jimmy/ Jesus has moved on after going out, and this song tealks about Whatsername's life after Jimmy.

General CommentIn my opinion, if this were left on the album it would come before letterbomb... they probably had to edit it out though for financial reasons.

"He's talking shit about how it's better way back when/He lives every waking moment as means to an end..."
"...So god bless your fucking past and to hell with your glory."

This is related to extraordinary girl; Whatsername has gotten "so sick of crying", and that last line is her voice as if talking to St Jimmy.

"Too much just ain't enough to keep her satisfied/Her plastic card is filled with nothing comes to mind"

This seems to mean that Jimmy is trying to keep her by giving her loads of money, but she isn't satisfied anymore.
