You'll be laughing when I'm gone
You'll be smiling before long
I sold you all that you can't hold
My love struck story's getting old

Well you said wait one more day
So I lied and said okay
And you turned tuck tail and run
Getting there is half the fun

You'll be laughing when I'm gone
You'll be smiling before long
I sold you all that you can't hold
My sidewalk story's getting old

Well you said wait one more day
So I lied and said okay
And you turned tuck tail and run
Getting there is half the fun

So you took all I had
Made me smile, made me run
And you broke all my dreams
And you sat and watched me scream
Well I'll make you run
I'll make you pay me for it

no comments on this one, either? i think this is old hedley, most people dont know it. but its one of my favourites. I THINK its about someone who will be happy when there partner leaves. but then realises that maybe they wont be happy when they're gone. and dashes all their dreams. and lies to them, just to get them to stay there.

    I absolutely adore this song.

I interpret this song as someone being unfaithful, and lying all the time making the partner upset. So then Jacob goes around and pretty much says, "You want to do this to me? I'll do it right back."

Kind of like a revenge song? I'm not really sure.

I think this song is about when two people are in a relationship and one person isn't into it. And they know that once they break up the other person will be better off because they deserve better than them. "My love struck story's getting old ".. They cant fake it for very much longer. The girl wants to "wait one more day" and because they guy is putting off the breakup he "lies and says okay".. the last verse pretty much sums it up.. he is saying that he had fun while it lasted but now hes going to run. he knows that she is aware he isnt happy and he knows he hasnt been the best boyfriend and he wants her to pay him for it. just my interpretation haha

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
