in new day dreams a promise gives way
to a star struck death and a gold disease
a hollywood end for a once great man
who found death on his knees
cashed in crashed and burned
sore sour sore
our eagles become our vultures

General Commenti think that there's symbolism between an eagle and a culture. when i think of eagles, i get good images - like yknow the eagle being a symbolism of patriotism in America, stories of how eagles did heroic acts stuff like that. and the use of the word vultures - they are birds that would typically circle a corpse? i fucken love the last minute of this song.

maybe this song talks about how a man - the kind of guy that everyone looks up to, doesn't have to be a hollywood star (the 'eagle') has transformed into something that has contempt and disgust (a 'vulture')

General CommentOn a broader level, it seems to me like this song is about how over time, our ambitions end up becoming what eat away at our well-being -- using the literal reference of a John Doe who moves to Hollywood with the goal of becoming a movie star, only to end up in the gutter with a broken dream.

General CommentI agree with Saint. This could also mean, that our eagles - our leaders/idols, could be watching over us, as if they knew they were going to cash in with a fortune, and as soon as they know they've lost their followers, they crash and burn.

General CommentThis song is an epic, a new standard for hardcore defining that the some of the most honorable figures in our lives while birthing as eagles, become denmominated into vultures after the suffering they go through in life. whether it be horrile jobs or disgusting drugs, most of us fall, sour, sore than forever sour

General CommentJust as the title says it. Good people turn to bad people because of money, fame, pressures from society... whatever.
