This is one of my favorite songs. https://fnfgo.io
Take everything left from me
All! to! blame!
How can we still succeed taking what we don't need?
Telling lies, alibis, selling all the hate that we breed,
Super-size our tragedies (you can't define me, or justify greed),
Bought in the land of the free, (land, free)
And we're all to blame,
We've gone to far, from pride to shame,
We're trying so hard,
We're dying in vain,
We're hopelessly blissful and blind,
To all we are,
We want it all,
With no sacrifice!
Realize we spend our lives living in a culture of fear,
Stand to salute say thanks to the man of the year,
How did we all come to this (you can't define me, or justify greed),
A greed that we just can't resist (resist)
And we're all to blame,
We've gone to far,
From pride to shame,
We're trying so hard,
We're dying in vain,
We're hopelessly blissful and blind,
To all we are,
We want it all,
With no sacrifice!
Tell me now,
What have we done,
We don't know,
I can't allow,
What has begun to tear me down believe me now,
We have no choice left with our backs against the wall!
And now,
We're all to blame,
We've gone to far,
From pride to shame,
We're hopelessly blissful and blind,
When all we need,
Is something true to believe,
Don't we all,
Everyone,
Everyone,
We will fall,
Cause we're all to blame,
We've gone to far,
From pride to shame,
We're trying so hard,
We're dying in vain,
We want it all,
Everyone,
Don't we all

This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
Just A Little Lovin'

I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
It's about politics. Everyone hates everyone else - "selling all the hate that we breed." Not just republicans or democrats. I've never seen hate like the hate liberals have for Bush - and I've never seen hate like the hate the Islamofascists have for the US - AND I've never seen hate like the hate conservatives have for those who hate us. Don't reciprocate the hate, guys. Strike only in self-defence.
"Everyone wants it all with no sacrifice!" - If you think getting Bush out is the solution, think again. If you think keeping him in is the solution, think again. There is no perfect solution. Everyone wants it all with no sacrifice...one of the truest things around.
@Bodester 18 years later and this still holds true. Except we really do need Biden to get out of that office. xD
shadowwiththeeyes.................................you are what you eat, and you're a dick!
Bong, Bong, Bong!
Is it me or every sum-41 and punk-like forum with more than 10 post all end in ''Punk sucks-like'' discussion?
Also Am I the only one who think that acoustic version of Punk/Rock/punk-rock/metal (and all the derivation you can imagine) are good and sometime better than the original songs?
And by the way, can anyone here say that a song is good without using the words fuck/kick/ass at least three times in their post?
I am so sick of you fucking 12 year olds who take up 9 pages of forum space to arhue with one another.
Not about the song.
Not about its meaning.
About whether you fucking thinks it was ripped-off from another band or if the guitar riffs are too simple.
How pathetic must you be to tell everyone on the internet why you hate a particular band. This is a website for discussing song meanings not seeing how far you can shove your head up your ass and make yourself look like an idiot.
Goddammit, I have seen kindergardeners with more fucking sense than you dumbasses.
And as for the song meaning (since I'd like to actually contribute to this website with something coherent and relative to the topic) it feels to me that the lyrics imply we are controllers of own fate. We've just made alot of bad decisions and here we are stuck in this world with war, poverty, and crime. No matter who we try to blame, its our fault; we did this to ourselves. Responsibility, I think is the main theme of this song.
thank you for pointing out what this site is meant for
the ironic thing is that sum 41 is canadian, owell i don't give a shit
By the way, truongt.......that's really lame, man.
like im gonna come back to see if anybody said anything about my comment........... god!
That doesn't stop you being a jackass.
bastard, sum 41 rules...
Wow, just once this time. I must congratulate you on displaying the motor skills of a 4-month-old spastic gerbil.
Whether they suck or ahem "rule" is up to you, all i was doing was pointing out that a lot of their songs are just immitations of other people's music. Even Fat Lip just sounds like a Vandals or LTJ B-side.
