"Not Too Much To Ask" as written by Mary Chapin Carpenter and Don Schlitz....
To hear you say my name, to see you search my eyes
To feel you touch my hand, it more than satisfies.
If I was not the first, just say I'll be the last
It's too much to expect, but it's not too much to ask.

Now I can only dream of being all you need
And I can only try to be the reason why
You think about today and forget about the past
It's too much to expect, but it's not too much to ask.

Now I can only dream of being all you need
And I can only try to be the reason why
You think about today 'cause the past is just the past
It's too much to expect, but it doesn't hurt to ask
It's too much to expect, but it's not too much to ask.

General Commentthis song makes me cry.
it brings back memories-- i used to listen to her when i was.. i npreschool.

"Now I can only dream of being all you need
And I can only try to be the reason why
You think about today and forget about the past
It's too much to expect, but it's not too much to ask."

    it's all we can ask.
to be everthing to the one person that we care the most about.

one thing i know i always have to keep in mind:
"You think about today 'cause the past is just the past"
i've done some pretty stupid things in the past
&the past has haunted me completely....
but the past is just the past.
we move on. we learn. we grow.
    press on.

great song. a good duet to do with someone you care about.
