This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
Fight the fight alone
When the world is full of victims
Dims a fading light
In our souls
Leave the peace alone
Now we all are slowly changing
Dims a fading light
In our souls
In my opinion seeing is to know
The things we hold
Are always first to go
And who's to say
We won't end up alone
On broken wings I'm falling
And it won't be long
The skin on me is burning
By the fires of the sun
On skinned knees
I'm bleeding
And it won't be long
I've got to find that meaning
I'll search for so long
Cry ourselves to sleep
We will sleep alone forever
Will you lay me down
In the same place with all I love
Mend the broken homes
Care for them they are our brothers
Save the fading light in our souls
In my opinion seeing is to know
What you give
Will always carry you
And who's to say
We won't survive it too
On broken wings I'm falling
And it won't be long
The skin on me is burning
By the fires of the sun
On skinned knees
I'm bleeding
And it won't be long
I've got to find that meaning
I'll search for so long
Set a-free all
Relying on their will
To make me all that I am
And all that I'll be
Set a-free all
Will fall between the cracks
With memories of all that I am
And I'll that I'll be
On broken wings I'm falling
And it won't be long
The skin on me is burning
By the fires of the sun
On skinned knees
I'm bleeding
And it won't be long

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Yo La Tengo
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,
Magical
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
I can't believe no one commented on this song... I love it so much! I like them more so than Creed, so I'm glad they got a new singer.
Ok, let me give it a try.
"Fight the fight alone When the world is full of victims Dims a fading light in our souls" -> It's a difficult thing to stay strong and keep on fighting the world and trying to make it a better place, especially when a lot of people have given up -- this makes you feel like the fight is pointless and makes want to surrender too.
"Leave the peace alone How we all are slowly changing Dims a fading light in our souls" -> I'm not really sure about this one but I think it could relate to how we change our perspective on such things as peace, war, etc.
"In my opinion seeing is to know The things we hold are always first to go And who's to say we won't end up alone?" -> The things you care most of are most likely to be lost. And who can assure you that you will not be alone, without anyone to help you out, in the end?
"On broken wings I'm falling And it won't be long The skin on me is burning By the fires of the sun On skinned knees I'm bleeding And it won't be long I've got to find that meaning And I'll search for so long" -> Ahh... :) The message here is that although you may fail, break down and have no hope for improvement, you should never stop stop searching for something ("that meaning") that can make your suffering worthwile. I mean: you try to help people around you but something unexpected happens and you end up in a hopeless situation. You should not give up, no matter how bad the situation is, because your wings may be broken, skin burnt and knees bleeding but "it won't be long" and you will find something to lift you up. And the last line of the chorus states that you should look for it for as long as necessary -- until you find it.
"Cry ourselves to sleep We will sleep alone forever Will you lay me down? In the same place with all I love Mend the broken homes Care for them, they are our brothers Save the fading light in our souls" -> This is also not very clear to me but it also has some notion of not giving up (accepting the bad situation) and of helping others, so that you can save the hope in their souls.
"In my opinion seeing is to know What you give will always carry you And who's to say we won't survive it too?" -> This one, in turn, I'm quite sure of. What you do for others is the thing that you will never lose, no matter what happens. That is: whatever good you, can not be taken away from you, so if you are a good man, you will always have something to hold on to.
Hm, this may be some way off the real meaning, but at least that's what I see in the song.
@MuminPL Good interpretation when I listen to this song I get a similar vibe<br />
I believe this song is about to coming to grips with our own mortality and realizing that we can change and make a difference in our life.
The first part is saying we must take 100% responsibility for our lives. Nobody else will fight for us so we must do it alone.
The chorus is interesting as I believe he is trying to relay the message that each and every day we're slowly approaching our own death("on broken wings I'm falling"). He is "on his knees" trying to find the meaning of his existence.
We define our own lives and we must be the ones to make the change. We are slowly fading and soon only the memories of us will live on.
This song to me is just the essence of depression and lonliness. I dont think you can place it on any one situation, the song will bring up different situations and different feelings for different people. But I love the lines
"Mend the broken homes Care for them, they are our brothers Save the fading light in our souls"
The rest of the song sums up how the individual feels and then these lines show that hes not alone in feeling alone. Argh! such a good song!
Im not really sure what this song is about... but it is a really good song! Especialy the chorus, it rocks!!!
I think this touch's on people looking out for number 1 and it just hurts them, and that they feel there's no hope, but when people care for those around them they can see the silver lining. something like that
its clearly about osing someone close to u and searching for the reason of why they died
it clearly is about losing someone close to you and searching for the reason of why they died
This song will be the next single for AB, just to let y'all know. It will be their third after "Open Your Eyes" and "Find The Real". ALTER BRIDGE ROCKS!
