"October Song" as written by and Amy/rowe Winehouse....
Today my bird flew away
Gone to find her big blue jay
Starlight before she took flight
I sung a lullaby of bird land every night
Sung for my Ava every night

Ava was the morning, now she's gone
She's reborn like Sarah Vaughan
In the sanctuary she has found
Birds surround her sweet sound
And Ava flies in paradise

With dread I woke in my bed
To shooting pains up in my head
Lovebird, my beautiful bird
Spoken 'til one day she couldn't be heard
She just stopped singing

Ava was the morning, now she's gone
She's reborn like Sarah Vaughan
In the sanctuary she has found
Birds surround her sweet sound
And Ava flies in paradise

General Commentits obviously about her bird that maybe always sang on her window ledge flying away
buit i think its also about amy herself spreading her winds and moving to somewhere better for herself. :)

General Commentyeah this is about a bird she used to have who is now dead. she said so in one of her concerts.
    it's amazing
but actually the chorus is a ripoff of "lullaby of birdland" by Fitzgerald

General CommentIt's kinda weird that the canary is named Ava, thats more of a girls name, and the only canaries that sing are the male ones. I have one and we sing to eachother all day (:

General Commentummm i dont think its "obviously about a bird" at all.
i think the bird or 'ava' is more likely a refrence to someone close to her.

General CommentIt is about a bird, actually.

I read an interview with Amy, and she said the song was about a canary she used to own, called Ava, and they sang to each other every night, just like the song says.

General Commentscat signing (vocalizing using sound and syllables instead of actual lyrics)

II wanna apply this scat signing to " October song" at mark 2:54
I feel like she scats, like a bird would, " I never ment to fly away" or it could be " I never ment to take off" which would make more scene, because what do birds to when they leave the nest? They take off. Never to return home again.
Now that I listen to it again, it sounds like she says " I never ment to give up"
    rip Amy

    Between the cheats...

At the 1:47 mark through 1:54 Amy is clearly "Scat singing"
Although, at the 1:47 mark, the last word would be "got" as soon as it rolls up to 1:47 she scat sings, than at the 1:54 mark the lyrics pick up where they last left off, and at 1:54 she continues with" the jack of hearts is my jackpot.

Personally, I think she sings something along these lines ,
Imagine this verse picking up at the 1:48 mark, " and take a min to, oh, bottle the jack of heart"

    What do you guys think?
