"Light" as written by and Darren Stanley/conley Hayes....
The light, it flickers
Your light, traveling down so deep
Illumination

I have been cold, I have been blind
You have come to change my mind
I can put my faith in you

The light, it blisters
Your light, coming down so bright
Transformation
Turn it up, give me some room to grow
Turn it up, give me that sense to know

I have been cold, I have been blind
You were sent to change my mind
I can put my faith in you

For something ordinary
It's so extraordinary
I trust, I put my faith in you
In you
In you, in you
In you, in you

The light, it glitters
Your light, when I stand this close
It's almost blinding
Turn it up, give me some room to grow
Turn it up, give me the sense to know

I have been changed, I have become
I have flamed under the sun
I'm the reflection of you

For something ordinary
It's so extraordinary
I trust, I put my faith in you
In you
In you, in you
In you, in you
In you, you, you

For something ordinary
It's so extraordinary
I just, I put my faith in you
In you
In you, in you
In you, you, you

It flickers
It blisters
It glitters

In you, in you
In you, you, you
You are

General CommentI think darren wrote this song to thank his sister for her support when he was sad, angry or weak. It's a nice song...

    General CommentGood speculation.
This song could also just be about a lover, who he is thanking for being so strong and, like you said, supportive. Very sweet song, either way.

General CommentThis song is lo-ve-ly...the methapore of someone who shines, who glitters, who illuminate your life.

"From something ordinary, it's so extraordinary..."

Just beautiful from beggining to end...intense...
To me it's about a lover that overwhelmed him...

General Commentso beautiful... to feel so wonderfully towards someone like this is so rare... which is why this song is so precious. When I listen to it, it reminds me of the birth of children. Just the innocence of the child seems to be so special. It is ordinary because people give birth all the time, yet it is extraordinary at the same time. Birth tends to represent hope, and hence lets us trust again....

but I totally agree with viosanne for Darren is very close with his sister and he did go through a period of time when he was very unhappy. This song is absolutely breathtaking.

General CommentHa ha, x_hotelpaper, you unbeknowingly hit the nail on the head! Darren wrote Light when he was going through a horrible time in his life, and then discovered his best friend Leonie was pregnant. The baby, Calvin, became Darren's godson and Darren talks about him now and then.

I love it even more because it reminds me of the exact way I felt when I found out my sister was pregnant - I wasn't having the best time of it either, and then this truly magical thing happened and new life was created. (Sorry, I'm getting sloppy. I'll stop.)
