"Head Like a Hole (Nine Inch Nails cover)" as written by and Michael Reznor....
God money I'll do anything for you.
God money just tell me what you want me to.
God money nail me up against the wall.
God money don't want everything he wants it all.

No you can't take it
No you can't take it
No you can't take that away from me
No you can't take it
No you can't take it
No you can't take that away from me

Head like a hole.
Black as your soul.
I'd rather die than give you control.
Head like a hole.
Black as your soul.
I'd rather die than give you control.

Bow down before the one you serve.
You're going to get what you deserve.
Bow down before the one you serve.
You're going to get what you deserve.

God money's not looking for the cure.
God money's not concerned with the sick amongst the pure.
God money let's go dancing on the backs of the bruised.
God money's not one to choose

General CommentI loved the nine inch nails version of this, but it kind of disappoints me that a band would do a cover like this.

there aren't THAT many differences between the two, besides the general emotion of the song. trent reznor's voice is edgier and the emotion sounds truer (maybe because he wrote it. go figure...)

the whole point is that if you aren't going to really add something to the song, what is the freaking point of making it? it's just deceiving to people that listen to it thinking that AFI is amazing for writing it.

it's like if an average joe painted an almost exact replica of the Mona Lisa, and showed it off to people. the people that had never seen the original painting would think it was great, and the people that had seen the original Mona Lisa would spit in the guy's face for trying to compare himself to the great Leonardo Da Vinci.

General CommentIt's Reznor you fucking moron.
Why don't any of you people ever comment on the meaning rather than 'How mch thes song rox lolz \m/\m/'

The meaning is the same as NIN's version, obviously, because it is a cover, unless of course Davey added his own meaning to it somehow. Knowing Davey in fact I would not be surprised.

As far as I am concerned it is about suits, people that don't give a fuck about anyone else as long as they get their gucci suits, their top of the range briefcases, their capaccino at each break and of course their paychecks. Or it could also just be about general inconsiderate people. but that discludes the 'Got money' part.

General Comment1) i don't see how anyone can say that this song is better than reznor's. there's nothing new here, nothing impressive. it's a decent enough cover, but i can't really say it's better because there was nothing particularly impressive about it.

    2) keep in mind that this song was written around the time that people like jim bakker were being exposed as frauds and embezzelors. hence "god money."
