"evil eye" as written by and Tim Wheeler....
She's giving me the evil eye
A poison smile
Asking if I will stay
A while

I made a promise to the night
In blood (in blood)
I signed (I signed)
The line (the line)

She's giving me the evil eye
I can't deny
Oh that girl, she's so damn fine
Divine, so fine

Bound through all space and time
Shivers running down my spine
Giving me the evil eye
She's mine

Sinister parasite
She occupies
Every little space inside
My mind

Corrupt thoughts here enshrined
So clandestine
Sublime

Giving me the evil eye
I can't deny
Oh that girl, she's so damn fine
Divine, so fine

Bound through all space and time
Shivers running down my spine
Giving me the evil eye
She's mine

Yeah, love is pain and love is blind
You don't know when you cross that line
Pretty soon you're intertwined
With this girl
Thunder rolls and lightning strikes
But you don't know what it's like
To be all torn up inside
In this world

Giving me the evil eye
I can't deny
Oh that girl, she's so damn fine
Divine, so fine

Bound through all space and time
Shivers running down my spine
Giving me the evil eye
She's mine; all mine

Promised to a valentine
Forever when the twelve bells chime
Giving me the evil eye
She's mine

General CommentOne of the best songs of new album Meltdown..
    It's a lovely dark-love song
    "Sinister parasite
    She occupies
    Every little space inside
    My mind"
    She=Parasite !!!! Tim is great.....

General CommentAh, I love this song! I live in the States and have very little way to get Ash's albums, so I only have Meltdown off of iTunes, but I love it. This is a great song, very dark and lovely at the same time.

General CommentI love it when Ash go all dark with their lyrics... there is a pretty gothic feel to this song... one of the best, IMO. I think it's about being scared and fascinated by someone all at the same time, maybe with a bit of sex thrown in there too... hmm... I'm not good with Ash meanings...

General CommentThe last verses actually go:

    "Promised to a valentine
Forever when the twelve bells chime
    Giving me the evil eye
    She's mine"

And not as above. BTW, I love this song. Totally dark and misty and yet somehow sweet. Like loving and hating a person at the same time.

General CommentFascination was the term applied to the EVIL EYE. To fix a persons gaze, in other words fascinatye was to curse with the evil eye. if a women had the ability to fascinate men she was regarded as a witch. - Anton Szandor Lavey - The Satanic Bible.

The evil is is an old term used meaning that a women wuld get a man under her spell and screw him around "She's giving me the evil eye
    A poison smile
    Asking if I will stay
    A while"

Straight out she is being evil with the poison smile.

"But you don't know what it's like
To be all torn up inside
    In this world"

More stuff about how she is messing with him, but he cant do anything about her because its like he is under a spell. A good way to sum up women if u ask me, haha.

And yeh, this has to be oen of my faviourt Ash songs. Good stuff.

    General CommentHmm...
Some would write it off as just a sinister girl messing with a guy.. The 'evil eye'--but, no. That's too easy for an Ash song.

I believe the song is about about a girl who gives the guy in question a look--the 'evil eye'--and he falls for her.
Later, he's destroyed, because he's left with nothing... But, like a fool, he chases after her. "She's mine."
    ...

I dunno, just my two cents.
