I've been there before, It's all I've ever known
Looking for the face I am
Where do I go? All that's in my sight
Are darkened dreams of empty lies
Hole is there it's waiting it is real
You are only what you want to feel
I can see your eyes and they are asking

(Chorus)
We're a new hope generation
We can see the wasted lives in your faces
But we can see Messiah rise in these places
until the tears are gone

I've seen you before, you're always on your face
Trying to find the traces left
Hungry and tired, waiting for your need
Just hold him close he won't ever let you go

Open arms let your spirit pour

Here's the call to anybody at all who's ever had
The rise right after a fall
It's revolutional when we come like this
They can't believe we're living represenatives
It gives light unto the Gen. X and Y, resolution
With no generic reply
I stand aside a genre that's on a tear
Broken chains explain that we almost there
You think I will throw away
But I don't care what you say
Cause the one you push aside, will rule one day
you can not divide a unified youth nation
So where's my anointed now generation

General CommentOne of my favorite songs from these guys. I'm not really sure what this song is trying to get across, but I think it is talking about how in the past, others have treated the world and it's people with disrespect and war. The "New Generation" is hoping to change the actions of their ancestors. I guess. Not really sure. If anyone else wants to throw in their two cents, please, feel free.

General CommentThis song is about how we are a new generation for Christ. That we aren't how other's see us. We aren't just pierced, tattooed, rockmusic loving teenagers who think only about sex and partying, but that we are children of Christ, and that we want to glorify Him.

General CommentI love this song...it is so true in my life and in my church.
The first verse is all about hopelessness. Its talking about how they felt before they knew God, when they were lost and it seemed like nothing would ever get better. The line "hope is there, it's waiting, it is real" is talking about how they know God is real and waiting for their friend to come to him...and he will save them.
The second verse is pretty much the same thing...I think the "I've seen you before" part is talking about how he's been through that again, but also saying that everyone feels like that and all they have to do is reach out and God will be there.
"Here's the call to anybody at all who's ever had the rise right after a fall" means anyone who's ever experienced God is who he's talking to...
"It's revolutional when we come like this" is saying how powerful it is when God's children stand up for him...
The "cause you the one you push aside will rule one day" part comes from scripture about how the least will become first, etc....I think.

General CommentThis song points out that Generation X and Next (well I guess it's Y now) are not as lost as a lot of older Christians seem to think.

Our passion makes them fear us, but our passion is what saves us.

I'm as tattooed and pierced as any Xer. I use to think being called Gernation X was a bad thing. But now I understand I encompass all that we stand for. I wouldn't trade my Gernation for the world. We're young, most of us are crazy and wild, but we live life like every day is our last. It's not all about sex, drugs, and rock and roll. It's about never letting anything pass us by.

I actually just found this band. I'm at a point in my life where I am questioning everything. This song makes me realize why I am questioning everything. Because that is because we were raised to question everything.

Generation X and Y, we hold the world in our hands. It's only a matter of time before people realize we're not as lost as we appear.

General CommentI think this song is about how we have new hope in Christ because he has covered our sin. I don't think that it is specifically about this literal generation of youth.

One thing that's really important to remember as well is: even though we may be a generation that wants to stand for God, God is not dependent on us to accomplish is glory. He uses and works through our lives. It is HIS glory, not ours.
