Moon comes up
And the moon goes down
Another sleepless night
Another sleepless town
I got you
I got you

Whenever I think about
What I lost
I change my mind instead
To what I still got
Cause I got you
I said I got you

Well you can call me papa
And I'll call you baby
Don't forget your momma's my baby too
Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be there
I'll be there for you

Soon enough you know
I'll be around
But that ain't soon enough
Cause it ain't right now
I need you
I said I got you

When you close your eyes
And you drift to sleep
From time to time
I hope you're running to me
I'm thinking of you
I hope you see me to

Well you can call me papa
And I'll call you baby
Don't forget your momma's my baby too
Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be there
I'll be there for you

Well you can call me papa
And I'll call you baby
Don't forget your momma's my baby too
Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be there
I'll be there for you

this song is absolutely gorgeous. to me its sounds like a guy who has died and is watching over his wife and child. or maybe the mother has died ("Whenever I think about what I lost I change my mind instead to what I've still got Because I've got you") He sounds like a father who is supporting his child. "I will be there, I'll be there for you You know ill be there, I said ill be there " I always like to think of how songs might be used in films. Maybe the protagonist takes care of an orphan or a young child with no parents. It's just a beautiful. very sweet. its about the love a parent [figure] feels for his child.

this song makes my heart ache, its so beautiful.

simply the love of a parent down to his child. makes me wish i had this kind of connection with my own father.

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
