She knows the voices in her mind
They tell her
To leave

She's tired of smiling madly
Until silence becomes very silently
A noise in her mind

After all she has nothing inside
No good to give
No meaning to live
The mist engulfed tonight
Every single star

After all they shared
How could he simply say no
After all they shared
He turned away from her to go
She said she wouldn't cry
That was really just a lie

She knows the noises in her mind
Nothing's left but
Screaming silence

After all she feels numbness inside
The feeling's gone
She's upside down
The pictures behind her closed eyes
This time you went too far

After all they shared
How could he simply say no
After all they shared
He turned away from her to go
She said she wouldn't cry
That was really just a lie

After all they shared
How could he simply say no
After all they shared
He turned away from her to go
She said she wouldn't cry
That was really just a lie

After all she has nothing inside
No good to give
No meaning to live
The mist engulfed tonight
Every single star

After all they shared
How could he simply say no
After all they shared
He turned away from her to go
She said she wouldn't cry
That was really just a lie

After all they shared
How could he simply say no (simply say no)
After all they shared
He turned away from her to go
She said she wouldn't cry
That was really just a lie

After all they shared
How could he simply say no (simply say no)
After all they shared
He turned away from her to go
She said she wouldn't cry
That was really just a lie

After all they shared
How could he simply say no (how could he simply say no)
After all they shared (after all)
He turned away from her to go (he just turned away)
She said she wouldn't cry
That was really just a lie

When I first heard this song, I thought it was about this girl who got proposed to by this boy she really loved, but then he turned around and cheated on her, I didn't understand the part where it says "Until Silence becomes very silently, A noise in her mind" until this year, when I had a bad break up with a boyfriend. After he dumped me, I was so upset, but he didn't even seem to care, so I acted that way too, and pretended I never even liked him or cared about him in hte first place. I think this song could also be about a girl who gets pregnant, and then her boyfriend leaves her when he finds out.

I think this song is about a girl who is in an abusive relationship that has a tragic end. On the surface it does sound like a song about a girl who is just heartbroken, but I think most Delerium songs have a deeper, more thought provoking meaning.

She knows the voices in her mind
They tell her To leave (she is in a bad situation and she knows she should leave)

She’s tired of smiling madly (Faking the happiness to every1 around her) Until silence becomes very silently (She has kept quiet about her situation for so long, but it's
A noise in her mind constantly on her mind)

After all she has nothing inside (How she feels about herself after taking the abuse for so long, No good to give she's lost the will to live) No meaning to live The mist engulfed tonight (I think this is a forsight into an explosive night,
Every single star possibly her death. Stars representing the spark of life and
    being engulfed by mist)

After all they shared (He is saying no to her life, she feels like since she has How could he simply say no endured his abuse and he has "put up" with her they have After all they shared shared a lot. She said she wouldn't cry because that makes He turned away from her to go him angry or he told her not to, but she did cry. So since she She said she wouldn’t cry "lied" to him, he turned away from her in an abusive way. He That was really just a lie probably flew off the handle)

She knows the noises in her mind (She hears herself screaming, nothing is left of her inside her Nothing’s left but mind) Screaming silence

After all she feels numbness inside (Her mind is numb to the abuse and fear) The feeling’s gone (She's dying) She’s upside down The pictures behind her closed eyes (It all replays in her mind even as she's dying) This time you went too far (He went to far with it this time and killed her)

Kind of important song. One of their best imo. I didn't see it added so I thought I'd do the honors. I think this song is about a girl who got dumped by a guy. She feels worthless and wonders how the guy could dump her. She thought everything was great, but she played it off like she was ok with it. She wasn't though "She said she wouldn't cry, that was really just a lie". Guys like this give good guys a bad name. I think there's something more to the song though, but its hard for me to recognize.

Well. I can relate to the "Said she wouldn't cry..." part. Girls will sometimes never show their true feelings. So if you asked a girl that obviously loves you if she would be sad if you broke up with her, she would probably hold a force field and say no when really she will. Yes, the guy is at fault here but so is she, she told him she doesnt care, so he went bye bye

yeah, i can feel the good guys getting a bad image. Sadly, that was the case in my last relationship. She had been traumatized so bad from her past that she just couldn't trust me when im the most faithful and honest person i know myself! oh well..

i just went through a breakup, and even though i was the one that ended it i really think i could relate to this song.

"She’s tired of smiling madly Until silence becomes very silently A noise in her mind" this could talk about lack of communication and how the silence became so overwhelming that it was almost like a sound.

"After all she has nothing inside No good to give No meaning to live.." could explain the feelings of not wanting to give yourself in the relationship any more and feeling like you just want to end it all.

"After all they shared How could he simply say no After all they shared He turned away from her to go She said she wouldn’t cry That was really just a lie" this very simply just shows the surprise felt when you realize that your partner has turned against you and you're trying to deny feeling the pain of losing them.

My last post came out all jumbled. This is how I meant to post it...

Every single star possibly her death. (How she feels about herself after taking the abuse for so long, she's lost the will to live. I think this is a foresight into an explosive night, Stars representing the spark of life and being smothered or unable to see)

After all they shared How could he simply say no After all they shared He turned away from her to go She said she wouldn’t cry That was really just a lie (He is saying no to her life. She feels like since she has endured his abuse and he has "put up" with her they have shared a lot. She said she wouldn't cry because that makes him angry or he told her not to, but she did cry. So since she "lied" to him, he turned away from her in an abusive, angry way.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
