This is what they call paying your dues.
Don't even say it.
I want nothing from you.
Don't what I can to forget the past.
Just don't think i can quite so fast.
Hey hey hey, this is the end.
Glass on the floor and blood on the mirror.
Clean up quietly so no one will hear ya.
Put up your feet,
I got something to sell ya...
Pull up a chair and watch the world go to hell.
Hey hey hey, this is the end.
Hey hey hey, leave me for dead.
I told you this would happen and it did.
Wake up,
Walls are sweating.
Make yourself beautiful.
Wait for the sound to die out.
Kick and scream and fight for your soul.
Armed to the teeth with hopes and dreams.
Falling apart at the seams.
This time we're playing for keeps.
You wonder, "What's in it for me?"
Hey hey hey, this is the end.
Hey hey hey, leave me for dead.
I told you this would happen and it did.
You're standing and you're clapping
As you burn your bed.
This is the end.

General CommentUm, I might be completely wrong, but to me these lyrics somehow seem to be about a relationship that has gone stale. About two people who have given up hope for their love, who just resignate and give in to every wrong thing that is happening to them and their love. Just like people in a fascist regime. And that's what I think where the title comes from. But, as I said - I could be TOTALLY wrong here...

Anyway, a great song, probably the best one on their new album!

General CommentWell, coming from someone who this just happened to me. I believe this is about someone who was cheated on or screwed over, and the person comes begging them back for forgiveness, but you realize that you can't just forget something like that so easily.
