"Love Somebody" as written by Robert Peter Williams and Guy Antony Chambers....
Always and forever is forever young
Your shadow on the pavement
The dark side of the sun
Gotta dream the dream all over
And sleep here tight
You don't want to sing the blues
In black and white

And it's hope that spring's eternal for everyone
If it ain't broken break it or the damage done

Trying to love somebody
Just want to love somebody right now
There's just no pleasing me
Trying to love somebody
Just want to love somebody right now
Baby lay your love on me

Violet in the rainbow just melt away
There's not enough minutes in the hour
Or hours in the day
The song played in a circle that never skips a beat
The stranger in a country that I have yet to meet

And it's hope that springs eternal for everyone
Got a lifetime in a second oh the damage done

Trying to love somebody
Just want to love somebody right now
Guess there's just no pleasing me
I want to love somebody
Just want to love somebody right now
Baby lay your love on me

It'll come in your sweet time, Lord
I just gotta let you in
The blind leading the blind, Lord
Getting underneath your skin
I can feel you in the silence
Saying let forever be
Love, only love, will set you free

I want to love somebody
Want to love somebody right now
There's just no pleasing me
I want to love somebody
Just want to love somebody right now
Lay lay, lay your love on me

It'll come in your sweet time, Lord
I just gotta let you in
The blind leading the blind, Lord
Getting underneath your skin
I can feel you in the silence
Saying let forever be
Love, only love, will set you free

General CommentThis is one of my favourite love songs that Robbie sings, he's speaking from his heart "I wanna love somebody". It's a very full and satisfying song, well done. I love the line "Love and only love will set you free".

General CommentThe greatest song Robbie has ever done, in my opinion. There are a few mistakes in the lyrics here, but anyways... -.-
I don't know why, but many people have never heard this song, but it's like a symphony. Each and every word has its meaning.
The "Always and forever is forever young" line is, to me, an expression of belief. One thing will be forever young and this shall be love, if we believe in love, awlays and forever will forever be young.
Your shadow on the pavement - Even the sun has it's dark side, and usually we can see that there is sun by looking at the shadows. Maybe you're alone and your shadow is the only one around you?
And the blues - even the sad times have their colour - we shouldn't make them black and white?
And it's hope that spring, the season of love, of happiness, is eternal for everyone - not just for ourselves.
Violet, the colour of romance and love (that's how I understand it) melts away in the rainbow - our colourful life.
There's not enough minutes in the hour or minutes in the day to find happiness.
The "song" of life and love is always played in a circle that is one and the same and never skips a beat, but somebody somewhere out there - a stranger in the country - is meant to be mine, and I have yet to meet him.
I love this part: "It will come in your sweet time, Lord, I just gotta let you in. The blind leading the blnd, Lord, getting underneath your skin. I can feel you in the silence, saying Let forever be, love, only love will set you free". The line "Let forever be" again shows the "forever" thing - it's like, let love be and let it be forever.
Sorry for this dumb analyse with bad English too, it's just the way I feel the song, it has made me think a lot of times until I completely feel it in my blood. I love Robbie ^^

General CommentI'd agree with you, rumi; every word has its meaning and strung together makes it deeply lyrical. It could be interpreted in many ways, and I like your analysis of it. I absolutely love the harmony also! It's so sweet!
Anyone who hasn't heard it yet must. It could well be Robbie's finest work to date.
Some other lines are "If it ain't broke then break it Oh the damage done" which could be to do with breaking the ice? You'll never know 'til you try sort of thing. "Your lifetime in a second All the damage done" could emphasise that.

"It'll come in your sweet time Lord
I've just gotta let you in
The blind leading the blind Lord
    Getting underneath your skin
I can feel you in the silence
    Saying let forever be
Love and only love will set you free"
