"Hang 'Em High" as written by Ian Muir, Paul William Chapman and Pete Way....
Wait until it fades to black
Ride into the sunset
Would I lie to you?
Well, I've got something to say
Grab your six-gun from your back
Throttle the ignition
Would I die for you?
Well here's your answer in spades

Shotgun sinners
Wild eyed jokers
Got you in my sights
Gun it while I'm holding on

After all is said and done
Climb out from the pine box
Well I'm asking you
'Cause she's got nothing to say
The angels just cut out her tongue
Call her black Mariah
Would I lie to you?
That girl's not right in the brain

Mass convulsions
Strike the choir
By the grace of God
Gun it while I'm holding on

But don't stop if I fall
And don't look back
Oh baby don't stop
Bury me and fade to black

She won't stop me put it down
She won't stop me put it down
She won't stop me put it down
So get your gun and meet me by the door

She won't stop me put it down
She won't stop me put it down
She won't stop me put it down
So get your gun and meet me by the door

She won't stop me put it down
She won't stop me put it down
She won't stop me put it down
So get your gun and meet me by the door

She won't stop me put it down
She won't stop me put it down
She won't stop me put it down
So baby

Don't stop if I fall
And don't look back
Oh baby don't stop
Bury me and fade to black

Don't stop if I fall
And don't look back
Oh baby don't stop
Bury me and fade to black

Well don't stop

General CommentI think this is a brilliant song, with an obvious literal interpretation and then a metaphorical meaning behind that. It's pretty obviously about a cowboy dude in Texas or something who's riding round the deserts with his lover, on the run from the police, and he's telling her not to stop if he gets killed, just to keep on going. It's metaphorically about trying to get the person you love to carry on, even without you, which shows true love more than anything else could.
God, the second time the chorus starts and Gerard sings "don't stop" pretty much without any backing noise sends shivers down my spine (very good ones). It's one of my favourite MCR lines/hooks! Brilliant song, one of my favourite from my favourite band.

General Commentthe music at the beginning of this song sounds western, theres a western movie of clint eastwood and it's called "hang em' high" so i'm sure they drew inspiration from that.

General CommentI think that the song has a sort of Bonnie and Clyde thing going on. Bonnie and Clyde was about a couple who robbed banks together. He was the shooter and shea was the driver of the get away car. That was always the mental image I got; Gerard and some girl robbing a bank and him telling her to get away even if he is hurt. It's kind of a twisted love song.

    General CommentI have to say now, I'm totally addicted to this damn song. Gerard's voice is absolutely crazily amazing and emotional. I love the last two chorus bits at the end where he repeats;
    "don't stop if i fall
    and don't look back
    oh baby don't stop
    bury me
    and fade to black"
Just after the instrumental bridge, it sounds amazing when he sings the first line "Don't stop if I fall" and then the drums kick back in again.
Totally love this song, and all MCR songs but this in my top three favourite MCR songs.

I really hope MCR do the festivals next year in England!!

General Comment"i know the new album is in memory of some one called maria, wondering if "black mariah" is connected, any idea's ppl?" by xcrimsonfairyx

Black Mariah is the vehicle which mental asylums used to transport crazy people back in the day to their institution ^_^

General CommentYeeeEes!!! If they do the festivals that would be the best thing ever. I can't believe the relatively low amount of comments his song's received. Along with Thank You For The Venom it's my favourite on the album. It's the change of pace in the chorus that I love!

And I totally agree with your "don't stop if i fall" comment beni...it's amazing! Weeeee.
