"Haircut" as written by Kevin Patrick Devine, Amy Bracco, Chris Bracco, Carey Brandenburg, Mike Skinner, Russell Smith and Margaret White....
I saw your haircut in a storefront
The choppy sides and perfect bangs
I loved the way it framed the model's cheekbones
The blank expression on her face

So I went inside and tried to buy it
But I got told it's not for sale
I got embarrassed and I decked the sale's clerk
Stole the wig and ran like hell

And I figured I would come and show you
So I kept runnin' towards your house
Then I remembered I don't have your address
Least not the one you live at now

So I headed home to get collected
To let the red flush from my face
I took out my notebook and I sketched you smilin'
I like to think of you that way

And I put your haircut in my closet
Next to your t-shirts and your cards
I turned the light out and I sunk in slowly
Countin' sheep and breathing hard

But when it comes it's way too quickly
And it busts apart the faith I've grown
See I can't stop myself from hurtin' you
So I guess I won't

General Comment"then i remembered i dont have your address
at least not the one you sleep at now"

The version I have has that lyric. I think it fits better. He lost his girl, and he doesnt know who she's sleeping with. But he sees her everywhere. Saw Kevin in cleveland. He opened for Mike Doughty. He was truly amazing. I only wished I had learned his music before I went so I could sing along.

General Commentok maybe somebody could clear this up for me...but i know this song is about a girl...and i know he's pretty torn up about her...but did they break up, or did she die? because there's a lot of stuff that could go either way.

    ...except for the end.

    i can't tell though.

General CommentI believe this song is about either an obsessed ex turned stalker... he tries to impress her by finding her haircut and showing it too her, but while tring to show her remebers she moved away... so he just puts it in his closet with all the other things that remind him of her... his 'shrine' in a way... plus the end of the song
'see i can't stop myself from hurtin' you
    so i guess i won't'
he knows that no matter what he does hes only going to bother her... so why not... something along those lines...
someone help me out here haha

General Commenti don't think it has to be a stalker,
just someone who really really loved her girl, but she went away 'cause he was hurting her (too much love tends to hurt).. or maybe they were hurting each other.. so, he knows he can't change that fact, thus he will hurt her again, so there's no point to go searching for her because history will repeat itself.. he rather think about her smiling (happy, wherever she's at).. and he kept t-shirts she left behind when she moved as mementos, and she even sent some postals cards to show she cares about him.. or i'm being too optimistic?

    mm.. stalker or dead girl..
would be too freaky for KD, i don't buy it
