"Thanks" as written by and Kevin Patrick Devine....
I never knew
Things could be so slow
I could wait so long
And be so still

And come
And go where I want
On your arm

And thin streaks of tar
Spill off your right eye
Where my fingers find
There way there

Every night
We sleep side by side
Your hands in mine

And when you get here
It's so nice
It's just the part
Where you leave

I don't like
When you get here
It's so nice
It's just the part

Where you leave
I don't like

Such a happy accident
A note in your sneaker
At ten in the morning
And all of my worry

That you were offended
And the catch in my breath
When you weren't
It's like I woke up

And got handed a present
And I'm thanking you for it
I'm thanking you for it

General Commentmy ex girlfriend used to always tell me this was devine's prettiest song, the story he tells and the simple romance involved.

General CommentAnother beautiful love song by Mr. Kevin Devine. One of the greatest lyricists, in my opinion, writing songs right now.

"We sleep side by side...your hand's in mine."

    I want that!

General Commentthis is kevin devine's prettiest song to me, and it always will be. it's my favorite and the idea of slipping a note in someone's sneaker at 10am is precious to me. this song makes me feel a bit sad though.
