"Platforms" as written by and Ani Difranco....
Life knocked me off my platforms
So I pulled out my first pair of boots
Bought on the street at Astor place
Before new york was run by suits
And I suited up for the long walk
Back to myself
Closer to the ground now
With sorrow
And stealth

General Commentthis is such a great poem. i love it. can't believe i'm the first to comment!
even though its really short, i think the simpicity is the best part about it, and the eloquent movement jof the words., she's talking about her infamous boots! ahh gotta love ani.
