Wrapped In My Memory Lyrics

It couldn't have happened
To a better man
It couldn't have been any
Different than it was

And you're wrapped in my memory like chains
For I say that the flowers will always be there in my heart
Like an old fashioned movie with all of you playing the parts

Wonder if I'll never
be so unafraid
To walk to the river
And turn around again

For I say that the flowers will always be there in my heart
Like an old fashioned movie and I never forget your part
I never forget your part

Standing on that stage
tell us what you've been feeling
Before you started to fade
You gave me something to believe in
And that the best thing
That anyone can give

And you're wrapped in my memory like chains (Yeah you're only a memory now)
And you're wrapped in my memory like chains (Yeah you're only a memory now)
And you're wrapped in my memory like chains (Yeah you're only a memory now)

And I can't wait until we see each other again
And I can't wait until we see each other again
And I can't wait until we see each other again
And you're wrapped in my memory like rolled gold

Song for the late great Andy Wood of Mother Love Bone, saw Shawn perform this in London In Feb 2013, nearly brought him to tears....brilliant tribute

@joeend It was about a girl he loved that Andy had been with. The girl was more in love with Andy than Shawn although they were friends.

The first line of the second chorus is missing. Also, the final line of the second chorus should read "I'll never forget your part." The last line should read, "And you're wrapped in my memory like gold"

Great song. It was the closing song on episode 5x12 of "The Sopranos" -- "Long Term Parking."

Peace.

The composer takes his time getting there. What's it alll about?

Well, maybe gold chains. Jacob Marley preceeded Eb Scrooge and warned him about the chains of gold. Every moment counts, but if one spends every moment counting, then what good is it? Maybe the gold chains are enough to resemble the lyric "....dragged down by the stone...." (Pink Floyd).

The flowers are all in my heart

@marsy.... don’t won’t to bicker about this... Shawn played this again in 2018 in the UK and told us it was a song for Andy... only commenting what comes from the mouth of a genius! Conversation with him about it after gig as well confirmed this, we had a great conversation about Andy Wood.... so sad he is no longer with us....
