"Believe" as written by Benjamin Burnley, Aaron Fincke, Mark James Klepaski and Jeremy Hummel....
Don't tread the water, just stay still
I'll not be bothered by you until
I'm picking sides and pulling the strings
I'm living lies and shedding the skin
I'm open wide and letting you in
I'm wronging rights

Believe
I don't care what you want
I just want mine
Shut up, smart little bitch
I don't need lies
I don't care what you want
I just want mine
Get up, force it to fit, confined inside

Don't pull me under, under the deep
I often wonder, how it should be
I'm picking sides and pulling the strings
I'm living lies and shedding the skin
I'm open wide and letting you in
I'm wronging rights

Believe
I don't care what you want
I just want mine
Shut up, smart little bitch
I don't need lies
I don't care what you want
I just want mine
Get up, force it to fit, confined inside

I don't care what you want, I just want mine
I don't care what you want, I just want mine
I don't care what you want, I just want mine
Shut up, smart little bitch, I don't need lies
I don't care what you want, I just want mine
Get up, you're such a bitch, I don't need lies

Mine
Mine
No

General Commenti think confined inside is about more about restricting her and almost making her become his slave. that along with force it to fit, which i think is like making her wear something too small, to inhibit movement or w/e. i dont think this song is about rape.

General Commentwhat could "I don't care what you want,
    I just want mine.
Get up, force it to fit"
    mean other than sex....
but GET UP and force it to fit?
and "I don't need lies" really dont fit to me....
you also have to consider the last line
    "Confined inside my dead eyes!"
so it realy could be metaphoric....

General Commenti know this will sound creepy but it sounds like he's raping her. and she's telling him to stop, thus the verse"i don't care what you want, i just want mine".

I was listening to this song and was all, 'whoa, this sounds a lot like hes talking about rape here. must go check on songmeanings.net'

I don't care what you want,
    I just want mine
-he doesn't care he's hurting her

    Confined inside
-he knows that it will hurt her deeply

I know BBs lyrics get pretty deep but I still can't picture them singing about rape, so I have my doubts that this is what this song is really about.

General CommentI know I'm late but hi anyways. When I first heard this song I thought it was about rape too but i rethought the lyrics alittle and thought maybe he's talking about him and a girl and how hes been exiled because of it. Like they're running away. The whole song feels very angry and action packed. Its like the type of music they play in high action scenes in movies when people are chasing each other. Btw- this is just what I think, or how I saw it so you don't have to agree, just an opinion. Anyway, heres what I think:

Don't tread the water, just stay still
I'm not be bothered by you until
(Its like hes saying "don't start trouble for me just keep your head low")

I'm picking sides, and pulling the strings
(Its like hes having to choose btw her and another type of life. "pulling strings"- either to keep there secret by using people to keep them quiet or making her stay quiet)

I'm living lies and shedding the skin
I'm open wide and letting you in
    I'm wronging rights,
(He has to run away and lie about them so they can be together. "wronging rights"-no one wants them together)

Believe I don't care what you want,
    I just want mine
    Shut up, smart little bitch
    I don't need lies
I don't care what you want,
    I just want mine.
Get up, force it to fit
    Confined inside
(this verse sounds as if the two are arguing about what they both want. Like the girl wants to let it out but he wants his career so he shuts her up and hides her. Also- "get up force it to fit" could be something he uses to hide her or something he hides her in when people come to see him. And confined could mean restricted. So "confined inside" suggests hes restricted in his own territory. I think it could be the argument. Every 2 lines could be what they say to each other. eg "i don't care what you want i just want mine" could be her. And "shut up smart little bitch, i don't need lies" could be him)

Don't pull me under into the deep
I often wonder how it should be
(these lines might be talking about her convincing him to stop hiding-"don't pull me under into the deep" as if shes drowning him by making him realize his lies and secrecy. "i often wonder how it should be"- might refer to how real relationships are meant to be in his eyes, or how he sees them as happy with everyone being so welcoming)

I'm picking sides, and pulling the strings
I'm living lies and shedding the skin
I'm open wide and letting you in
    I'm wronging rights,
    Believe!

I don't care what you want,
    I just want mine
    Shut up, smart little bitch
    I don't need lies
I don't care what you want,
    I just want mine.
Get up, force it to fit
    Confined inside

I don't care what you want,
    I just want mine
I don't care what you want,
    I just want mine

I don't care what you want,
    I just want mine
    Shut up, smart little bitch
    I don't need lies
I don't care what you want,
    I just want mine.
Get up, force it to fit
    Confined inside my dead eyes!
(lifelessness- could be they got caught or hes finding his relationship is dead and not worth it. If it is that he is dead or killed the like "get up, for it to fit" could be him hiding her before he was killed and now that hes dead his secret is "confined in his dead eyes"

Well, there you go. Enjoy! ^-^

General CommentThis person doesn't care about anyone but himself and uses his significant other just for his own personal gain. This person is sadistic and should be locked up. He abuses his girlfriend and everyone else who isn't strong. WE ARE NOT ALONE but a lot of the times we wish we were. The album theme can go both ways. This is like the complete opposite of So Cold which is so amazing. Great song but so sick and sad!

General CommentPretty good thrashy song off the new record, i like it. it kinda has more of a agressive feel to it especially the lyrics.
to me, i think the song is just getting fed up with a female. "i don't care what youw want, i just want mine" sounds like ben has reached that point where he's frustrated with a "smart little bitch". pretty simple.
