"The End of the World" as written by Joanna Smith and Rob Crosby....
Go if you want to
I never tried to stop you
Know there's a reason
For all of this you're feeling
Love its not my call
You couldn't ever love me more
You couldn't love me more
You couldn't love

Me I don't show much
Its not that hard to hide you
See in a moment
I can't remember how to
Be all you wanted
I couldn't ever love you more
I couldn't love you more
I couldn't love
You want me to cry and play my part
I want you to sigh and fall apart
We want this like everyone else

Stay if you want to
I always wait to hear you
Say there's a last kiss
For all the times you run this
Way its not my fault
You couldn't ever love me more
You couldn't love me more
You couldn't love

Love me more
Couldn't ever love me more
I couldn't love you more
I couldn't love

You want me to lie not break your heart
I want you to fly not stop and start
We want us like everything else

Maybe we didn't understand
Not just a boy and a girl
Its just the end of the
end of the world

Me i don't say much
Its far too hard to make you
See in a moment
I still forget just how to
Be all you wanted
I couldn't ever love you more
I couldn't love you more (x4)

General CommentI can't believe no one has comment on this song yet. Anyways I think this song is him loving some one that doesn't love him back as much. He is saying that he won't stop this person from going even though he loves them alot.

General CommentI feel I can relate to this song with an old love *sigh* it's my sad/emotional song

"I couldn't ever love you more" - Robert loves the person to the very limit of anyone love for anyone, he's smitten, he's bitten, he's hooked, he's cooked, he's stuck like glue :P

"You couldn't ever love me more" - Roberts love is finding it impossible to love her, she feels no chemistry with him.

    "Go if you want to
I never tried to stop you" - The old saying, about letting something go and if it comes back to you you know its yours

    "Know there's a reason
For all of this you're feeling" - You may be feeling guilty, the reason for this is because you can't love me anymore.

"Love its not my call" - I can't choose who you love, or I love

Me I dont show much - I don't show my feelings at all, you fail to find that connection with me for that reason.

Stay if you want to - the love something it'll come back thing

I always wait to hear you - so smitten

Say there's a last kiss - please end it, as its not going to work and I'm becomming more clingy

For all the times you run this
Way its not my fault - all the time and effort you've out into this relationship it's still not working. I can't help you not loving me.

General Commenthe's saying that he thinks he's the reason his relationship isnt working "love is not my call"..he's fallen out of love and can't love the person anymore or at least as not as much as he used to. but people sometimes stay together just because. this person is welcome to come back but maybe for more abuse and sadness (for all the times you run this way its not my fault)...theres a big defference in him saying "you couldnt love me more" (you loved me, you did your best) and "i couldnt love you more" (i dont think i love you as much as i used to) the "falling in love feeling" is gone for him...best cure album since wish.

General CommentThe cure's music has always been a form of post romantic jazz... for those who aren't into music theory, it still works on the subconscious level... but there's a lot of really overt things going on as well... do you have okay rhythm? try counting along with "Lost" to give you an idea of the clever tricks they routinely pull.

General CommentI think this song is about a relationship that is ending, but in a good way, they really loved each other, and maybe they still, but they realize the break up is for the best. I think they broke up too many times, ans she was always the one who left, because sometimes he couldn't remember how to be the person he was trying to be for her, the person that she wanted. And every time she left they ended it with a last kiss. He doesn't want to end the relationship, but he respects her decision, and also want her to know he really loved her, so if she ever want to look for him again, she knows she can. I love this song, I dedicate this to my ex boyfriend, it was the sanest break up I've ever had.

My OpinionOh, I really love this song.
I'm pretty sure it's about a couple that, contrary to what some people have said, loves one another ("you couldn't love me more"/"I couldn't ever love you more"). They're still in love and all that gooey stuff, but the narrator isn't as good as portraying his feelings as whoever he is singing to ("me, I don't show much") and he feels bad about that, like she deserves more than him and what he can offer in the relationship.
That's why he says he wouldn't try to stop her from leaving ("go, if you want to"), and why he says she is "feeling low". However, he's basically saying it's really her decision and he's got no more to offer when he contradicts the part saying she can leave with "stay, if you want to".
    Um, anyway.
    Just my two cents.
