And you can't see yourself in the mirror anymore
And you're alone and green and cold as the sea
And if you go down I will follow you underground

And you can't close your eyes anymore
And you can't dream alone
Just because you fucked up doesn't mean it's okay
To stand around pulling down the roof with your hands
Hoping nobody notices

But if you guffaw
I will fill your mouth with a sour taste

And you can't hear yourself anymore
And you can't sing alone

What makes you think I won't ridicule you?
What makes you think I'll avoid you?
What makes you think I'll steal your fingerprints?
What makes you think I will forget this?
What makes you think I won't hurt you?
What makes you think I won't cut you?

And you just bleed for eternal time
And bleed with confess like you seem depressed
And you need me, oh
And you guffaw I will fill your mouth with a sour taste
And if you run I will beat you there on a higher plane
And if you go down I will bury you underground

My InterpretationTo me, this song is about a painful, complex relationship that exists between two people who are mentally unstable. As the other person begins to show signs of being "lost" (identity crisis, lapse of sanity) the narrator becomes frustrated and controlling, saying whichever way you go ("if you could fall I will fill your mouth with a sour taste, and if you rise I will beat you there on a higher plane") you're fucked without me. The meaning is twofold: on one hand, he's trying to convince this person that they can't do it on their own and that they need him to succeed... and on the other, he's saying he only wants them to succeed insofar as they stay with him. It even sounds eerie. Pretty fucked up when you think about it.

General Commenti think the lyric is "if you guffaw, i will fill your mouth..." but i can't seem to verify that anywhere, including the cd sleeve.
