they played the records that we all know
they played em fast and they played em slow
with crazy lights and the music loud
it just wasn't the same somehow
it wasn't the same somehow

i wish we could dance the same as before
but i don't have it in me anymore
same dinner at the same cafe
you kept asking if i was okay
no i can't explain it even now
it just wasn't the same somehow
it wasn't the same somehow

the sweetest air and not a cloud in sight
i walked you home and i said goodnight
when you asked me up to the house
it just wasn't the same somehow
it wasn't the same somehow

i wish we could kiss the same as before
but i don't have it in me anymore
i don't have it in me anymore
i don't have it in me anymore

General CommentI love this song, and it's the only one he didn't do when we saw him play last week. I don't know of any other song that conveys the sense of creeping indifference that comes with age.

General CommentAt work we have an expression "mentally resigned" for someone who is looking for another job, and has mentally left us, but they just don't have another job yet.

This is the same, only in a relationship.
The relationship is dying, nearly dead, but they're still doing the same things they've always done.

    Been there, done that myself.
This is my favorite Casiotone song.
    It captures those feelings perfectly.
